Hey guys, I’m new to the IDA site and really enjoy learning from you guys by reading the forums. I’m getting a new boat this weekend and can’t wait to get it out. Sounds like Lake Pepin might be a good place to try it out and maybe catch a smallie. But, I’ve not fished Lake Pepin before. I would be launching at Pepin Can anyone give me an idea of what pattern the fish are on this early. I’ve heard suspending jerkbaits work well early. Is this something I should try? Any information will help out alot. Drop me an email. [email protected]
    Thanks much

My girlfriend and I have found three so far. One 3.5 year old 8pt. matching set already on Jan.22 (before the snow flew), and one yesterday. A very heavy 4 point side. Hope to get out a couple more times.

    Joe,
I have been out 4 times. On Bear, Arkansaw and Elk Creeks, and twice on the Rush River. First time out I caught nothing on Bear and Arkansaw. Second time my friend and I caught 8 browns on Elk. Third time we caught 14(Browns and Brookies) on the Rush. Yesterday I went back to the Rush. Caught only one brown. The water was very fast and very dirty. I’ve been getting them on spinners and small jigs. I don’t think it will get good until the water clears up a little.
