What’s a fish t.v. ?
Underwater videocamera. Probably one of the cheaper ones though.
Yes, i do understand the temp change causing the fog. I have to make sure i don’t bring my muzzleloader in the house if it has a load in the barrel because it too will attract moisture when it warms up.
I noticed the fogging after it had been in the house for 3 weeks prior. I don’t think warm to cold would cause moisture? Oh well.
I put it under a lamp to warm it up and it has went away for now. It may continue to have the problem after using it again, but for now i don’t think i am going to take it apart.
A friend told me his father had a hardpond last year with an open hole in the center (not sure if it was from an aeriator or not). He kept seeing catfish come up to get air, so he took a dipnet out on the ice and netted about 12 nice catfish. Sounds like they had a nice meal.
Wow, you must some pretty clear water up there in the northern reaches of the Mississippi River. Down here in SE Iowa where i am you would be lucky to see more than a couple inches. We have a mud bottom base with a chocolate milk river.
I accidentlly left my DCS hooked up all summer. Battery had almost 0 volts when i checked it a month ago. I know thats not good on a SLA battery. It takes a charge and gets very warm when doing it. I use a Vex charger and you could leave it on until it melted down, and it wont give you the ready light @ well over 12.5v for some reason. But it has held up and never ran out on me so far this season, (charging after every use) so the battery must have some life left in it.
Yes you can use the 9 amp battery on the Marcum
The 9 amp will last longer than the 7 amp battery.

I have the aqua-vu tripod. Regular $19.99, seen them on sale for $9.99 this week. These are not motorized but work great. Easy to pan manually.
I have the tripod too and think it’s worthless. You could never get it to stay, if you turn it, the cord would never stay tight in the rubber stop and always move on you. I even lost the rubber stopper down the hole once and had to make another. I then made my own camera compass on a bucket lid which works better but still a pain to bend over and turn it while looking up at the screen (i mount my tv on the cross bar in front of me at eye level). The auto panner will be a purchase very soon. Sounds like just the ticket.
How much were the LED’s at Autozone?
I was thinking something similar. I see you can get 24 led lights on Ebay for about $3 apiece. Supposed to be 70 to 80 lumens. I was thinking of wiring up about 3 of these in some kind of small lightbar and mount it to the roof bars with the same clips you used.
Anybody know anything about wiring LED’s and know if this is possible?
I will definately be putting in an order to you Bob within the next month. I did last year, you have a very good selection of ice jigs.
I have been in the mood to start pouring lead and build my own crappie jigs lately, and when that didn’t happen this summer i have turned my attention to ice fishing.
I have been in a DIY kinda mood lately so i thought i would try and make my own blade style jigs just for the satisfaction of it.
If you do have to tear into it, hope that the head is not warped. If it is, you may be looking at quite a bit more $$$.
Thats exactly the reason we want to keep our own minnows. We lost a big bait shop around here and there is only one other smalltime bait shop closeby. We wanted to make sure we would have the minnows when we needed them. Not having to count on them will help alot.
A bait shop 15 miles from here said he will sell tous by the pound. He raises his own rosey reds. He says he is the only one in the state that even sells the rosey reds to his knowledge.
We plan on using city water for the minnows. I will make sure and use some solution for the clorine. Anything else to worry about in city water.
We will be keeping fathead minnows and rosey reds. I plan on buying a big aerator along with a couple longer stones and good size pump to pull water through a homemade filter with charcoal and filter material. Haven’t built it yet but it looks like it would work well.
I do have a couple links to these threads which use tanks (deepfreeze or 55 gallon barrel). I’m not sure of the site rules for linking to other websites but i will give it a try.
Hope you can see the pictures or you may need to register.
A buddy just told me about a deal. He said some places sell remanufactured deep cycle Interstate Batteries for $30. This person has two of those and hasn’t had a problem with them in 5 years. I’ve never heard of recycled batteries, but it’s worth a search i guess. If i can find some kind of link i will post it.
That transducer mount looks good. May even be able to make something similar.
I have also seen a stabilizing rudder made by Buster Boats that would work good with a transducer mounted to that.
Thanks for the ideas guys.
