I didn’t notice a 205 tiller at the show when Alumacraft was setting up, but maybe I missed it. A great motor for that boat is a 150 Mercury 4 stroke.

Great motor but the extra 35 HP isn’t worth the extra 100 LBS in motor weight plus the battery and power steering weight and extra price you pay for it. Stick with the 115.

Sounds like most are powering it with a 115, but I have reservations about that size engine on that big of a boat. I know why some do though if they refuse to run Mercs with power steering.

The Mercury 115 is really the only way to go on this boat with the anti-feedback handle. Why spend the extra money on a 150 when you only gain 35 HP, you add 100 LBS in motor weight, and add battery and power steering weight? Then you should get a 200, too bad Mercury doesn’t have a naturally aspirated engine in that size. Been in these boats with 115 and 150’s, really no difference, and the 115 with three men and a full tank of gas is just fine, plus you have better trollability.

Call Frank at Rock River Marina in Edgerton, WI at 608-884-9415, they have a 205 tiller with a 115 command thrust and anti-feedback handle in stock and you can try it out at their location.

Anyone have a pro guide for sale?

If you are looking for a new 1825 Pro Guide, Jerrys Sport Service in Beloit, WI has a black one, no engine, handles Evinrude, Mercury, and Yamaha. There is also a new 1675 Pro Guide, white, Mercury 75 4 stroke, Phoenix bunk with spray on bedliner. Beaver is the one to call at 800-743-4309. A few folks from Minneapolis were there on Saturday and picked up a used Pro V.

There are also several manufacturers that use Ebay to liquidate their returns and holdover stuff.

Yes they do and they generally will have some type of warranty. If not, they state that they don’t.

That doesn’t say much for Minn Kota, if it new they should cover it. I know most companies would. I would try them again.

The motor may have been a factory second, thus no warranty. There are several manufacturers that won’t warranty items bought on ebay and other internet sites unless they are an authorized dealer.

Sometimes that can be expected. I hope you saved more than $300 on your purchase price over purchasing it locally.

5.3 Vortec, 3.42 Axle ratio. I drive the speed limit so 55/65 depending on the limit. I’ll tell you one thing, I couldn’t even tell I was pulling my boat on that tank of gas

If you are only getting 14 on the highway, are you loaded or empty?

I just got a smoking deal on a 2005 Silverado Quad Cab from my father in law Gas mileage – so far not too impressed, looks like I will get around 14 no matter what.

What engine, axle ratio, and highway speed?

Can’t you purchase the phone you want from Verizon and have U.S. Cellular activate it? I know the phone would be priced high.

I have a Casio G’Zone from Verizon that I’ve had for over six years. It can be submersed under water, which has happened, dropped from the heights of ladders onto the concrete numerous times. Casio now has the Commando, which is a smartphone.

Great to see the new store. I imagine Gander Mountain will need to put up a new store or just leave Green Bay. I sure do miss Sportsman’s Warehouse when they had a store in De Pere.

Olds never made a vehicle the same as the Acadia. The Olds Bravada is the same as the GMC Envoy.

Its good for 5200 lbs of towing, don’t forget towing capacity goes down with the increased weight added inside the vehicle.

I had the Airlift 1000 over 20 years ago and they worked great. I had the manual fill. Installed the filler stem at the bottom of the bumper near the hitch.

I know this is late. Kenai river into Skilak Lake in a drift boat for Trout. Southern Alaska is nice and cool. Talkeetna is a fun little town, hop on a plane, fly around McKinley, land on a glacier and throw some snowballs. Have a great time.

Or you could use lake water. Lake water put the spots on, lake water will take them off. Beats the smell of vinegar.

Until the spring gets fixed, you may want to tie the e-brake pedal to the release knob so it doesn’t annoy you.

I have an ’02 Chevy crew with 105,000 miles I might part with.

You don’t need a stiffer shock, with 70,000 miles they are simply worn. Just replace all four of them with the Monroe Matics, they are economical and offer a great ride. Do not put in any type of load leveling shock if the vehicle did not have them from the manufacturer, you may risk breaking the attachment point off the frame. If leveling for loads are needed, install heavier springs or air bags.

Any rocket scientist could figure out that when Obama came into office and gas went from $1.98 to where it is now

We went through this in the Bush administration with gas hovering around the $4 mark. Remember Michelle Bachman touting she would get gas down to the $2 mark if elected?

I heard this morning we are giving welfare recipients free phones in excess of $2B dollars in this country. I would like to see that end as well.

That program was started by Ronald Reagan. Someday all of us may be on that program.

After I swapped my tires we decided to to get ready for spring by putting the new clutch in the vet. Bring on the convertible weather.

Too funny, I was looking at 427’s yesterday. My wife wishes I’d get one so I quit looking at them and get stuff done around the house, but then I’d be out driving it instead.

Then you must be the one to blame for the late spring. I took my winter tires off six weeks ago.

We are beginning to see more & more people switching to Snow tires at the dealership.

A perfect opportunity for the service departments to put packages together for customers when they stop in. Instead of buying new rims for the extra set of tires, sell some used rims from vendors such as LKQ.

I’ve had new all season tires on the Buick at the beginning of winter, but there is no comparison to winter tires. I had a set of Michelin X-Ice for the season. Not saying if they are the best winter tire because its the first set of winter tires I’ve had, but one would have to believe the worst winter tire is better than the best all season tire.

Maybe I’m just heartless and an a-hole but I don’t see why all vehicles need to have cameras because a couple people are too lazy to look behind them when they back up.

Not all vehicles today have the best lines of sight. Take for example the Buick LaCrosse, one would say that a backup camera should be standard equipment because it is difficult to see when backing up this vehicle.

I would not get a tankless water heater. Cost is high, maintenance/repairs are high, yes it might be more efficient, but you will lose those dollars saved in repairs. Futhermore, you aren’t there enough to justify the savings. Go with a standard water heater gas or electric.

I have a GMC Crew with an 8.1 and an Allison. It will pull anything you put behind it. It gets 10mpg with a load or without. I have gotten 11.5 empty before , but very seldom.

You must have the 4.10 axle. I have the 3.73 and managed to get 16 when i’ve been really easy on the gas and cruise set at 65. City driving mpg is another story
