He should most definetly be x-rayed, and have his eyes checked. What is his breeding?

Please list the trainers that you know that use firecrackers and gun ranges to cure a gun shy dog so I can make sure to never use them for any kind of training. If your child was afraid of snakes, would you throw him in a shed with 200 snakes and lock the door? I just don’t understand the logic of forcing the thing that the dog is afraid of onto them…doesn’t is make more sense to introduce small amounts of noise in association with something the dog finds enjoyable? To each there own, I just see a lot more degree of risk in the firecracker/gun range method. Good luck with your dog which ever method you choose.

I’ve been around dogs for a long time and worked with some of the best trainers in the region and I cannot say it enough or loud enough NO FIRECRACKERS OR GUN RANGES. Ecspecially for a gun shy dog…you must take it very slow, it may take months for ANY progress to be made. Most gun shy dogs are that way for a reason, something happened to them early in life (you may not even know) but they need to start to “trust” the noise again and uneven, rapid noises like firecrackers and gun ranges are not the place to achieve that. Good luck.

Great looking dog, what I like best about that picture is you can tell that his little tail is going 100mph, many happy trails to you and your new addition.

I was there today and saw one auger, it was a jiffy but didn’t check the specifics.

I couldn’t agree more about scouting areas before hunting. While scouting for bow-hunting I will try and notice where the birds are, and where they are roosting. Early in the year the birds will still be relating to the same areas of late summer. I also prefer to hunt alone, and just follow my dog. I figure that she has a much better idea of where they are than I do.

Prairie Lions, thats what me and my buddies call’em and yes when they come across us in the field its the last sight they see. Feral cats are killing machines. Its not like they are on the endangered species list.

I live in Fridley, so real close to you. My work season ends on Nov 1, so I have a lot of time to get out and chase em.

Got a one man portable, man is that thing sweet. Talk about quick and mobile. Now all my ice fighing buddies need one so we can always be in attack mode….Hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays. If a few fish happen to find their way into your 5 gallon bucket, well thats always nice too.
