Thanks Denny O for your quick response to my post. This is the guy I was looking for. Went to the site you sent along and that was the rod case I was looking at. Probably should have picked on up while I was there. Any way, now I know where to get one. I see you are from Central Iowa. I am from the Cedar Rapids area. Any good bites going on in your part of the state? Big Hawk fan also. Thanks again friend.

Thanks for your quick response to my post. Yep, this is the guy. Should have went a head and picked one up while I was there. This was my first show. There was so much to take in I just didn’t know where I wanted to start layin down the card. Hope you are having a good winter of hard water fishing. Again, many thanks, IAKid52

Appreciate the ice news. We are looking forward to hitting some area lakes in the Dville/Mineral Pt. area in a week and a half. Not familiar with that neck of the woods at all. Any one lake better than another?

My son-in-law and family live across the street from St. Anthony High School in NE Minnyappless. I enjoy going up to see the kids and grandkids, but get restless after a while and need to get outside. Can anyone point me in the direction of a couple of nearby lakes I could get out on to drown some waxies when we come to visit.

Enough is enough. I’ve had it. If anyone can top this, have at it. HAWKEYE FOOTBALL. What happened to it? This year stunk. Not sure we beat one team with a winning record. Our record over the past 5 yrs stands at a pasty 34W – 30L. Do you think Cap’n Kirk should be on the next spaceship out of ICity? I can’t go on. Not only that, here in East Central IA. ice fishing leaves a lot to be desired. Planning a trip up Nordt to get in on a good bite somewhere.

    Nough said.

I have the same problem. No ATV or snowmobile so I do a lot of hoofin it. I am fortunate enough to have two setups. I have an Otter 650 insulated flip over for the colder days and a pop up that I haul out in a cheaper sled on the warmer days. I like many of the ideas suggesting adding skies or runners to get your equipment up out of the snow a little. I hope to get around to doing that when time allows. The Otter sleds are nice but when you get all your gear loaded in one and your trudging through 4, 6, 8, or more of snow it gets to be more work than fun. Another suggestion would be to ask a buddy to come along to help share in task of getting out and set up.
