Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I hope to replace the fuel lines and remove the old gas out of the in-floor tank first. That could be challenging.
Have you looked at Saddle’s? Lot of guys are going that route and it’s about as light as you can get.
I’m still unsure of the saddles being a big guy and not really wanting to learn all the rigging. I’m sure it would be great and they seem fairly comfortable. I don’t sit much on stand anyway. They are pretty spendy too.
Thanks everyone. Might try a first come first serve campground, but man, that would be a bummer to head way up north just to sleep in my truck. I guess I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but I can imagine who might.
Well, I broke down and bought a new Eskimo Mako 43cc. 32 lbs, cuts like butter. Got 10% off at Fleet Farm. Started on the 2nd pull right out of the box.
I’m looking to power my helix 7 on my polaris sportsman. I bought a power cord which I thought was a cig lighter hook up for the helix through humminbird. I don’t think I received the right cord. Anyone else done this with success, or do I need to take up some wiring?
For those of you that mounted the helix to your wheeler.. @munchy @eelpoutguy, what are you using for power? I called humminbird and had them sent out what i thought was going to be a cig lighter capable cord and it does’t look right.. I have a new Polaris and I guess it may have some quick power connects under the storage compartment. I’d prefer not to wire it directly to my battery if I can get around it.

I have mine mounted to the Grizzly. The one thing that drives me crazy is if you do not use the transducer, you have to go thru all the promps to get to the screen you use.
You would think they would have come up with some type of bypass for that.
What do you mean? I have my Helix 5 mounted on the CanAm and don’t seem to have this issue.
For those of you who have the Helix mounted to an atv or snowmobile.. What power cord are you using? Are you plugged into the cig lighter adapter or straight to the battery? I ordered a cord from Humminbird CS and I believe they sent me the wrong one. Ideally. I’d like to plug right into my new Polaris cig lighter deal. Thoughts??
Thanks,
Zack
