17-22′ during the day and dragging jig/paddle tail seemed to work best. I was marking them all over the place on live scope. I’d watch them come right up to the plastic then dart away. Then right at dark we were in 2-15′ casting. That’s when the bigger girls came out. Few 17-20ish inch saugers and that 23.5′ walleye.

Went out yesterday for a few hours and was hoping the bite was going to be on! Had to work for them. Only 14 walleyes/saugers. Biggest was a 23.5 inch walleye.

    Nice fish Mike!

No monsters to report from me but had a good bite during the day on Saturday. Nothing hot and heavy but caught a few dozen on basically everything. Jigging raps were the hottest bait for me.

Steve – yes, they were on the front side of wing dams just everywhere!

I accidentally found a bunch of crappies too. They were smokin the walleye baits, 1/8 oz jigs with big paddle tails.

It’s been quiet on here for awhile so I thought I would throw this one up. Bangin dams was the name of the game!

I was out last Saturday. Trolled 1oz bottom bouncers with hammered gold spinners with crawlers at 1.2-1.5 mph in about 9-13 ft against the current on the WI side across from Hanson’s Harbor (little more north). Picked up a few good eaters. Nothing fast and furious. Good Luck!

I plan on being out there by 10am tomorrow. Hopefully there isn’t too much ice to break through by then…

Nice fish Steve! Anyone know if the 494 ramp is open? Thinking about getting out there mid morning.

Last week we caught 45 total fish all 18-24 inches both walleyes and saugers! One 29er that my bother-in-law got too. Jim and Steve saw that one go down.

I have a new 12v Powerdrive 55” on a 17’ Lund with a 50hp and it works just fine. I fish the Mississippi River down here and further up north and have never ran out of battery and that’s fishing 10-12 hours straight when the wife lets me. I got the $1200 unit with the remote instead of the foot pedal. Make sure to get a quality battery. Best investment. If you had a 20’ Ranger then you probably want to go with a 24v system. Marine General out of Duluth seems to have the best prices: https://www.marinegeneral.com/

We got a little lucky too. Maybe 8-10 walleyes total. This one was the biggest of the day at 23”.

Hi guys, new to the group. I fish the Mississippi quite a bit up north in the Little Falls area but never down here. I’m going to give it a go as soon as I can get a boat in. Any words of wisdom when it comes to safety on this part of the river?
