Ok let’s just say for 1 minute that they are only going to take 2500 pounds and that will be regulated?? Which it will not be contrary to what they claim! Not sure if you have any recollection of operation square hook which involved FDL band but never were they convicted!! Secondly Boise Forte nets Vermilion already and have asked FDL to respect there not wanting them to net for BFs own business interests but it goes to show you that FDL has no morales it’s not even a rights thing for them it’s a fact that they can they will and they don’t give a poop!! With that attitude why do they deserve to have netting rights?? Next if they want to net that’s just great come on up and net but get your ass in a canoe and do it like there forefathers did not in big power boats with gps and motor assist nets that’s just lazy!! So you can talk on your pedestal about how it’s all fine but until they respect others and so there netting how they should I cannot agree with it!! On that note I feel and support Boise Forte netting they respect other bands by only netting there HOME lake and give back to the area WTF does FDL do for the lake????!

I am a homeowner on Lake Vermilion and if this happens and continues to happen I will put my home up for sale before it turns into Mille Lacs!! As of now the Boise Forte Band is fighting it as they did last year as well!! The BF band is a very respectful and conservative band who still nets small amounts and legally thank you by the way!! Find Du Lac has been famous for devastating lakes they DO Not have a reservation on the lake do not contribute a god dam thing to the stewardship of this area! Our resorts, guides and homeowners on this lake need to band together and do and or support Boise Forte 100% to keep FDL off Lake Vermilion, or it will end up being in the same shape as other lakes have been! I’m not prejudice at all as I have many friends that are part of or live on the Boise Forte but this FDL deal is getting absurd when will it ever be enough?? They do not have to net with any rules or regulations like BSB does they use boats with Gps and mechanical nets get your asses out there and do it the way others have to! I for one am sick and tired of paying for licenses, paying large taxes to be on a lake and hear they have no affiliation to this lake yet are gonna be here to net it sad deal out Gov. Doesn’t have the backbone to regulate this stuff a little bit!! I don’t want to hear the it’s there treaty right poop either there are ways around that! Sorry for the rant DONE!! Good luck Lake Vermilion

I tried the same thing once, come to find out the exact same thing you are talking about. Have since switched to TUCR and either shimano,,Symetre reels or pflueger presidents and have had great luck. You just cant beat the TUCR.

I can help you out by saying buy it now you will love it…. I ordered a 2016 1875 with a 175 Vrod in July, took delivery of August 7th and just put it in storage Nov 8th with around 98 hours on it so I got my use out of it. 1st off I was in the same position you are, wife wanted a dual sport boat, and this was the boat we opted for after looking at the Sportfish as well. We decked the boat out fully as we wanted comfort for all day on the water. Got the pilot chairs driver and passenger, the upgraded stereo, got the electronic gauges for the troll control feature, the snap in carpet, the ski package, i pilot trolling motor, no kicker, and the 3/4 top set. this boat/motor combo is amazing I am getting around 6.5 miles to a gallon if i drive it at the right trim and not run hard. So far at top end seeing around 56mph. As far as fishing the boat is great handles all waters with ease and is a nice dry boat to ride in. Only complaint I have is the front rod locker only has room for 6 poles wish it was a double stack and its tight with 7 foot poles. The center storage is also a rod locker, but I use it for misc stuff and tackle boxes, and it has a crazy amount of room. As far as storage the boat is great lots of storage under the rear seats, the front bow and the sides. Great Great fishing boat… Now for all day tubing/boating this boat is an AAAAA plus, the ride is amazing wish it had the IPS2 hull not sure why they skimped on this for such a nice boat but still runs great. The travel top is great for hot weather if you want to get out of the sun, it makes the motor noise a little louder but not intolerable, it also doubles nice for cool/rainy weather travels. The pilot chairs make for an unbelievably comfy ride for all day cruising and you can expect to burn around 15-20 gallons on an all day cruise/beach day love that!!! I don’t have any experience with the Merc 150 but have some friends who recently bought the same boat I did but with a 150 and he loves it, it is about 5 mph slower and about as quiet as my Vrod. You won’t believe hoe quiet these motors are almost scary. They make a troll control box for the 150, my gauges for the vrod have that built in and my buddy has the box for his 150 works sweet I would really recommend getting it. Other than a 10 plus rating on my boat I love it can’t say enough about it, thats about all I have. If you have any more questions or would like to chat about it before buying feel free to inbox me or email me can give you my number then. [email protected]
