Told us we were going to get 3-5 inches….ended up with 10 this morning. Most fun I’ve had on a snowmobile in a long time!

How ’bout dem Wild! The run for the Cup started today.
I sense a hint of sarcasm there
Donato didn’t look too bad thoughJanuary 30, 2019 at 8:34 pm #1831279Since I’ve never been to Arneson‘s before, would it be possible to do their day shacks Then take a truck out to shallower water in the evening/night?
I know the day Shacks we are going to don’t have roads but I’d imagine there are roads leading out from there to shallow areas closer in that we could bring our Clams out to.
We fish out of Dales and Arneson’s every weekend. About the only place you can go with a truck is east of the resort toward twin islands, there is a good shallow water spot around halfway to the islands. That is the only plowed road that I know of and it comes out of Dales, not Arenson’s. Almost always one or two houses up shallow there.
January 29, 2019 at 9:00 am #1830460For those of you who say busses won’t run in the cold, does that make the northern busses magic? Does that make my kenworth magic? Why wouldn’t a Bus run in that cold. Diesel additive is used in fuel. My old 97 powerstroke would start in this weather if she was prepped right.
Even with those additives that are supposed to help them from gelling up, they still can with extreme cold. Wouldn’t be good to have a stranded bus full of kids who don’t always dress for the weather with -60 wind chill.
January 28, 2019 at 7:36 pm #1830298you cant get any heat going in those diesel buses thats if they will even run in that cold. bus gells up in a rural area it can get serious in a hurry.. especially how they dress to ride the bus. as a rural bus driver I think this is wise..
Our school is closed for the next 2 days for this reason. Can’t have school if you can’t bring the kids to it. -25 tomorrow morning and -36 Wednesday morning at 8 o’clock. Saying -60 wind chill…no way a bus would run
December 26, 2018 at 5:44 pm #1820668I believe both places offer camping options but I’m not 100% sure. Both places have nice marinas and boat ramps. Warroad estates has a really nice golf course also, if you like to golf. Hope this helps!
December 26, 2018 at 8:51 am #1820519A north, northeast, and east wind are usually the worst for the Warroad area. If you don’t mind driving through waves then you could find a spot to tuck away along the shore to escape most wind directions. I have an 18.5 foot boat and it does fine in windy conditions. I have never gone out of wheelers but I would assume it is similar with the wind blowing.
December 25, 2018 at 8:43 pm #1820470There are plenty of good spots to fish close to Warroad…Elm, Buffalo Point and Whiskey flats just to name a few. Very easy access out of the public access in Warroad too. You can catch limits in July and August in 8-15 feet.

September 20, 2018 at 8:33 pm #1798761I drive a 2015 Colorado crew cab with a short box. Very nice driving and had no problem pulling 2 bigger jet skis two hours away. Get mid 20s mpg. There is still a good amount of room in the cab. Only complaint I have about them is in the winter you could describe them as an ice skate unless you get some weight in the box
September 16, 2018 at 4:26 pm #1797844“Mac was terrible and it still should’ve been good enough to beat MN today. That call on Matthews was a joke. The game was over until one guy decided he knew better than every one else in the stadium.
the vikes were handed this one on a platter and spilled it on the floor.”
I’ll bet that you didn’t see the exact same call on Kendrick’s earlier in the game…it was the same thing, just different teams at different times. By the way I don’t agree with that rule either, how else are they going to tackle

September 14, 2018 at 8:41 pm #1797658If the walleye bite is tough ask the guides about crappies on the Ontario side. There are trails going right out to the spots. The fish taste amazing and are usually around 13-15”. We had guides take us once and it was so easy to make it to the spot we just started going on our own.
September 2, 2018 at 10:23 am #1794993I don’t bear hunt but I get pics of a bear every week on my trail cams. This one likes to climb our stand to mess with the camera…

Got fined 20 grand for this…although this is pocket change for themAugust 12, 2018 at 10:47 am #1791080Electric seems to be the way to go for augers on a normal year…last year had trouble on LOTW with my ion because it wasn’t powerful enough to get through 40-50 inches of ice. But I would definitely recommend an ion or strike master electric auger. They are the best when in comes to ice that is less than 30 inches thick
August 8, 2018 at 10:33 am #1790313This is another one I chased for a few years, we called him shorty. Never saw this old mule on the hoof
Wish I could have a profile pic like that
August 8, 2018 at 9:08 am #1790264Looks like he’s not too far from the house! I would be scared to send that picture to anyone if they knew where I hunted!!
