I would look at Kent Andersons Jigs High tied rigs and jigs… The ones that Dean has might be Kents or at least thats what they look like. Kent puts a real heavy hook on his big chub jigs.
May 14, 2010 at 2:45 am #871962Not to HighJack here but… Does anyone know where a guy could get some 1/16 or 1/8 ounce size blade baits? I would like to run some shallow water with them snap jigging and havent found anyone to have them this light. Thanks in advance!
April 14, 2010 at 6:20 pm #863780Is there skeeter reel money for/in this tournament? and how many spots left… Do I need to hurry and get it in?
March 29, 2010 at 3:24 pm #858409I have note book for each lake I fish! Its the best thing you can do I think because we all know their are so many different variables when it comes to fishing, but if you can figure out a few patterns and duplicate its always a good thing!
March 15, 2010 at 11:25 pm #853848Great Report Joe! I agree 100%! The fishing can only get better around the area has the spring heats up!
March 13, 2010 at 1:11 am #853030What does everyone think about this? Personally I don’t see why they dont have pool 4 included if it takes off out of treasure island? Maybe i’m missing something here?
December 29, 2009 at 3:55 pm #827546I would say I’m in favor of a two day, Anyone can go out on a one day tournament and catch fish but the good fisherman can do it multiple days in a row, just like any other big event (AIM and FLW) I know if im coming from up here and bringing guys we would want a two day.
October 7, 2009 at 9:29 pm #807676Fishing is shaping up to be good! Should be a good time for all the teams coming up! Bring the familys there is lots to do up alexandria! Good luck to all the teams fishing!
May 13, 2009 at 2:04 pm #776329Dont qoute me on this but that is why we chose Le Homme Deiu because it is in the middle of the chain so people can go to the smaller lakes or people can go the the larger ones. Should be a great place for a tourny I have some past weights from fall tournaments out there that I will post once I find them in my folders!
May 12, 2009 at 9:38 pm #776176I heard it was going to be in Alexandria But i’m not sure. I think Mark will let us know soon.
May 12, 2009 at 9:34 pm #776173Ill be up there! Ive been fishing since it started it should be fun. Big weights I hope I have one of them, I know a few other guys who will be there that are on IDO
April 28, 2009 at 2:27 pm #771880I’m going to second the Alexandria Area its a great place check out woodland resort on Miltona, its away from the crowds great lake for fishing anything you want. Not only that is the fact that you can get to able 30 other lakes within about 10 or 15 minutes. Lots of options lots of lakes depending on what your looking for. Golf, water parks, Amusement park and lots of other options for teh ladies, while the guys get out fishing. Also Its not nearly as far as Bemijdi, Vermillion, Brainard. Good luck let me know if you have any questions email is [email protected]
April 28, 2009 at 2:15 pm #771876IF your lifetime lowrance Id stick with Lowrance. Look at the 520 or 522 both are great units have one on my little boat. Plus they are a color unit to really pick the fish off the bottom. Or for still short of $1000 you can get LCX-28C which has a nice big screen. I think they are running around $900 you will be impressed with that unit. Good luck let me know if you have any questions.
April 22, 2009 at 7:59 pm #770387While many of the lakes around the Alexandria lakes area are open and ready to be fished, a few larger lakes are in the transition fase, in which you cant ice fish, and its not open water to boat around. I would suspect bigger bodies of water should be open this weekend sometime. With high winds and temperatures it should really rip through the ice. As for fishing people around the area or moving onto the smaller bodies of water looking for crappies and sunnies up in the shallows along the shore lines. Look for pencil reeds, river inlets and black bottom bays in the 4 to 6 foot range, where the water is warmer and the fish will move into. Crappie minnows or moptops with small jigs and a bobber have been working best. Afternoon and evening bite has also be best because of the warming temperatures. If anyone wants to get out let me know. This weekend and the next should be great weekends for fishing.
April 15, 2009 at 1:15 pm #768723Well for all you guys and gals that got out this last weekend I hope you had a great one like I did. I dont know if it was just me or we were fishing in the right spot but everything was biting the hook. We had sunnies nice 8.5 to 10 inchers, Crappies 9 to, two 14 inchers and we had perch from 10 to 11 inches. The late ice bite is really on right now. This week should be one of the best weeks for late ice fishing. I concentrated in the pencil reeds where the warm maybe bit just a tich bit warmer. wax warms or crappie minnows, the fish were hungry. Good Luck.
March 7, 2009 at 5:50 am #755838I have talked to a few guys and I know they are going to sign up its not just a big priority for them. They will sign up sometime in late march or april. I wouldnt worry to muvh if your boat 93 you will be in.
March 6, 2009 at 5:07 pm #755654I’m going to suggest Miltona also. Its a great lake big enough to try differnt things but small enough to know what your doing. IF not miltona their are other lakes in the area, Ida, Reno, Minnewaska, osakis, Chippewa,Irene and multiiple other ones. All these lakes are about 20 minutes from eachother, so if one lake isnt going another will be, dont want to limit yourself to one lake. Ottertail also is a good fishery but it is a huge lake, sometimes people get frustrated by that but it also can pay off!
March 3, 2009 at 1:13 am #754274I agree the Arrticle has some real good points to help out. I know I jotted down a few points.
February 26, 2009 at 6:12 pm #752792Suffix is what power pro is after about two days on the water. suffix is like it is already broken in its great stuff altough I still have Power pro on many of my rods too!
February 23, 2009 at 11:10 pm #751682I have a questions then….. Does the lure sit above the leadcore or Below the lead core? or does it depend on what type of bait I am running?
February 20, 2009 at 2:37 pm #750779Your going to need a printer that is huge. A rolland mymaki or Mutoh printer or Ghandi has a huge one I would call midwest screen and sign they have numerous shops and are a great company let me know if you need anything.
February 19, 2009 at 9:39 pm #750539NO NO dont get me wrong here haha! I just know Brad (musky Mayhem) and Jason (chaos tackle) really well from Guiding and other stuff. Alot of time were getting off the lakes at the same time. So I know a thing or two they help me out I help them out. I went once Real late in the season when I had a day off with them and thats what we threw. THey have been doing it for a few years and they are just strating to let it out now.
