Can someone tell me if this a dead or blank post?

I have not done this for a few years so things might have changed, but what Jimmy says has worked for me many times. My best experience was off the end of the west pier before sunup until the sun breaks the skyline. Also go up the gunflint to Mink Lake or Trout Lake in late afternoon until dark float crawlers for trout. Couple casting docks on Mink and a trail just past the public access on Trout.
Just my two cents is that Dakota batteries are great batteries but the company has a reputation for poor service. Amped outdoors has great batteries and reputation for great service. To me the choice is pretty simple.
My experience would agree with this statement. I’ve owned both and no problems with either brand. Also owned a 100-amp Weize brand and was very satisfied. FB has a couple good pages on lithium battery brands and some really knowledgeable people. Michael Goodman has posted some great teardowns and comparisons of the most expensive through least expensive. Improvements to BMS happening every day it seems. In short: Lots of brands I would consider before Dakota.
Looks to me like the transducer is toast. You might want to check with Garmin support. Depending on how old your unit is I’ve read where they have offered discounts on 56 replacements or if they have any a free 54 replacement. Lots of reported problems with the 54’s.
I had a similar experience early this spring although mine were smaller than what is shown in the photo. Had groups of two to five moving around to the west of me. They did not appear to be high enough for satellites and moved randomly over a smaller area. It seemed to me like some group might be flying drones after dark with clearance lights as sometimes they would be flashing slowly. Never di figure out what they were. No alcohol or mind-altering supplements were involved either.
I guess I’m confused at the uproar here. Perhaps reposting in both discussion forums would have been appropriate. Personally, I rarely go into the hunting forums as I no longer participate in the sport. I do fish a lot, so I found it informative for me as I try to keep abreast of the issues and opinions. Frustrating enough to come back to the forums and find topics have suddenly disappeared.
Working a bit from memory here, but my old CHIRP 93sv and plus 93 when used on ice in flasher mode, you had to set the scroll speed to ultra. Has to do with how fast the screen is refreshed. Made mine every bit as good as my LX5 Marcum. Not sure I remember how to get there, but it’s somewhere in the menu.
For clarity. Are you trying to network the out-of-date finder to the UHD2 finder so you can read the Livescope and the GT56 on both units?
The UHD2 unit will handle both the GT56 and LVS34, but the outdated unit (assuming 93sv plus or older) will not work either the 56 or the 34.
Like I said earlier it’s been a while since having a PS22 so I went into my 106 tonight and found the setting for scroll speed in the sonar section under sonar setup. Now I cannot explain why that would effect Panoptic unless it involves the screen display speed, but I remember positively it cured the lag on my PS 22.
I have a LEM also. Mighty bite 8 1/2 belt drive. Pretty easy clean up. The blade and slider/carriage are removable, and I’ve found no place hard to get to for cleaning. Only one I’ve owned so cannot compare them.
Been a long time since I used a PS22 so my memory may be a bit off, but I do remember scroll speed adjusted the lag problem. My unit was an old CHIRP unit with PS22 and in the menu some place you could adjust the Scroll Speed to Ultra and it no longer had lag. Not sure the newer units have that feature though.
While I cannot speak for the particular brand, but I may be able to offer some incite. My first heated ones were liners brand name Saviour from Amazon. While they heated up quite well, I found them pretty useless without wearing bulky gloves or mitts over the top.
After more research concerning heating element wiring and heat patterns of gloves, I settled on another set of Saviour gloves. These worked very well for me without excess bulk. They heat both front and back of the hand quite well for about five hours. That is the longest I have used them. Turned on high they will self-adjust down to medium in about an hour.
The biggest downfall for either is the size and location of the battery pack. High on the back of the wrist makes things difficult wearing a bulky coat with cuffed sleeves.
At my age my hands get cold pretty fast and these have fit my needs. Hope this helped some.
Nice clean setup. I like it much better than mine. I used an Apache case for the same setup with the LVS12. I’ve never seen those L brackets before. Can enlighten me?
Didn’t see them mentioned yet, but you might check out the Ice Runner houses. Easily fit under a tonneau with room to spare.
I had a similar problem a few years ago and finally bought an extendable electric pole saw made by Sunjoe. For power I put my Honda generator on the back of my ATV where I could drive close enough to use and extension cord. Although I would not recommend it, I used a step ladder to reach the taller branches. Mine is the 10 inch model and extends to about ten feet so you could reach close to 15 ft. from the ground. Well worth the 65 dollars I spent. I have used it many times over the years and as I get older it’s so much easier than a manual saw. I even use it for clearing buckthorn around my property.
I purchased an LVS 12 for my 106 as well. I also have the 32. In my opinion I think the transom mount will be difficult to use for jigging unless you’re in pretty deep water. As Mojo said the beam is pretty narrow so keeping your jig in the beam will be a challenge. Similar to an ice ducer. It’s pretty useful for other purposes though. I use mine on the trolling motor to find those big rocks in my area before I hit them. Worth what you paid and hope it works well for you.
Like Huntindave I did not read the post as I have not had rum since my first hangover. Two ruined days from that one. But in fairness I went there, and I must have missed something as I did not see anything disrespectful either. I’m not one of the Boyz(regulars), but always enjoy the postings compared to other social sites. I don’t post much, but people here have always been helpful for me.
Lots of good info here: https://extension.umn.edu/fruit/growing-apples
From experience I know you would need two or varieties of the Malus species which bloom at or very near the same time. I also have had trees that never produce fruit for whatever reason. If you don’t have enough pollinators around, the beehive is a good idea.
Seems like forever ago, but I remember McD’s as the “home of the 19 cent hamburger”.
Have had an Onyx A-33 for a couple years now and have not tested it, but very comfortable to wear all day. Biggest problem is I forget to disconnect the kill switch before moving around.
It’s been my go back to line for several years now. Tried lots of others, some good, some bad, but seem to always be more satisfied with Magnathin when I can find it.
I have an 8.5-inch LEM 200 watt and it’s been a solid machine. I just don’t use it anymore so was thinking of selling it. Cannot compare it to others as it’s the only one I’ve owned.
Subscriber for many years here but have not renewed for a couple years now. Early on I found myself reading it as soon as possible after receiving it. Loved reading Gary Clancy and Shawn Perich in particular. Seeing if I knew anyone in Cuffs and Collars or reading the “You should have been here yesterday” fishing reports. Slowly became my bathroom reader and a couple trips to finish everything until I got to the point where less than one trip and finished. Decided it wasn’t worth the price to me anymore. There is still a bunch of good info in there, but as I get older, most does not pertain to me or is repetitious.
If your 73 cv is a plus or UHD model yes. If it’s the older CHIRP model no for Livescope.
Your list is pretty good for pro’s and con’s I might dispute the cost however as decent units are pretty reasonable right now compared to top line flashers. I’ve run Garmin units since it was first introduced as Panoptix and I’m well satisfied. The learning curve is not as difficult as it looks. Fine tuning and failure to read the instructions has been an issue for some folks. Some things I love about it is the ability to see exactly where the fish are instead of just a mark on the screen indicating there is something within your cone. Pretty easy to identify the size of fish and often the species as well as the location in relation to your bait. Searching for fish is also easier even for bottom huggers. You can find the fish even if they are not under you. The more experience you get with it the better it will be for your needs. Lastly if you like a challenge and to be entertained instead of staring at the colored circle or flat line across your screen then live imaging is for you. In the end it’s a decision only you and yours can make.
There is a business outside of Proctor which has Self Defense Classes for women which might interest you. Dead On Arms has classes starting soon, like Jan 7th according to their Facebook post. I don’t know what the classes entail but might be worth exploring. I live nearby if you would like I could stop and get some details for you.
I have owned just about all of them over the years and some thoughts. Otter cottage was a good unit, but I could never get the canvas to fit properly. Alway too short and the front would not drop to the ice. Really heavy to drag around by hand. Frabil Recruit was good but not tall enough. Always found the Eskimos and Clams too short in height. Ended up with an Ice Runner Explorer and while it’s considered a two person, it’s light enough to load on the ATV rack and roomy, it’s also easy to heat being thermal. Lots of other features sold me on it. Very happy with the house, but unfortunately will be selling a whole package as soon as I can get out and check over all the equipment due to an injury.
Tough decision for sure. Do not envy you. Thought from me. Perhaps start bragging to him about all the tip line rewards you got. Maybe see if you could somehow get a DNR check to show him.
All the problems we face now have been promised to be fixed by the same people who created the problems.
