im sure ive said it many times, but the worst thing about “some” city folk is they wanna be right on top of each other and dont mind starting a conversation with any victom with in ear shot. i go fishing to get away from people, not to hear your life story or share mine! i soent ptobably an hour politely and quietly untangeling my line last weekend because the [censored] next to me apparently didnt understand how current worked. finaly i gave up and went home for the day.

Your probably right there! Lol I don’t know why but I love seeing what I can swap for next.its like a drug. Still have the truck though. Looked @ the camaro tonight and its a mess. And as previosly mentioned, it wouldn’t let me do half the stuff I like to do. On a side note, I called about a mossy oak wrap for it and quicly decided I’m gonna do my own camo job. $3000 plus material! The places I go with it its gonna be my best option.

Till 79 or 80, the ranger was a package offered on full sized f150’s. I think it was basicly an off-road package.

Thanks for the advice. I would only be pulling through mountains maybe twice a summer? The majority would be just around town and down to sothern iowa empty. So maybe a gas toner will be the best for me.

1500 is what ive saved so far. im looking in the range of about 2000-2500. i know im leaving the automatic trannys behind, they are not as dependable or strong in my opinion. ive been doing dodge chevy comparisons online. if anyone has a 98-99 dodges 25-3500, i would like to know what experiances they have had. my knowledge and experiance stops at 88 and they were great then.

I don’t think the new ones are made as well as the old ones. I got a nice shiny stainles one 2 years ago? I got it to replace the old one that my fatherinlaw had for 15 years. Guess what? New on has crapped out and the old one is still going perfectly. I do need to try and find replacement grates and a handle. Wondering if I can use the newer one as a charcole grill or smoker?

how was the guy out of line? he hit what he was aiming for and made a clean kill. Besides, they were in high school. they should have been through hunters ed anyway. if i blame anybody, it would have to fall on the parents for coddling them to much in the first place. if he turned one kid onto hunting i say hes a hero.

I’m undecided myself. I love the challenge of hunting because you can see the animal and you just have to stay quiet. Fishing on the other hand is year round like yall said, but unless you have a fish finder (which I don’t) you really don’t know if there’s any fish there or not. My fishing experiance at lake aquabi for instance. Wasn’t till the following monday that I found out they had recently drained the lake and hadn’t restocked it yet! Lol

Lol, yes I realize its a fishing sit, that’s why it was an option. I didn’t however realize that pelts were worth anything anymore by the time you figured in your gas back and forth if nothing else. Perhaps I need to look into it again.

I personly think it just depends on what a person likes and is comfortable with. I my self have never shot an auto so I can’t say which is best. I just know what works for me. I do know that I’ve been out with friends and my old pump worked no matter the temperature. Theirs on the other hand would slow down because the cold was affecting the piston inside.

I reckon yalls right. Still, planning a trip to my home town this weekend. Still think for $300 bucks I’d meet with the person to decide. A lot more to a man then a credit score.

with the semi-autos, do you have the option of switching to a slug barrel? i always keep just the one shotgun because it does it all. dont know what kind of range it has for moose and what not, but we dont have them in iowa anyway, lol.

lol, honest car salesman? i bet he didnt give more than 500 for the whole thing! never did much dealings with bankers or car dealers. Down around Mystic and Brazil Iowa, a hand shake and and a mans word still means something.

this wasnt one of the choices, but my absolute favorite and the gun that never let me down was a mossberg 500. it wasnt an auto, but was a great gun. this year im buying my first new one at bass pro.

Dodge makes great trucks! Only reason I ever went to chevy is because on my 88, parts cost twice as much as my 82 chevy. The 318 is the best motor around ever. May not be a power house but you can beat the hell out of them and they keep right on going.

so far, only once have i had a problem with a boat. young kid in what im assuming is daddies boat and drops anchor not 30ft from me. i was done fishing anyway so i didnt make to much of a fuss over it but the nerve of some people. Now last weekend i was fishing the river, minding my own buisness, in a rather tough spot to get to, and a whole pack of people came down. we’re talking mom, dad, a few uncles and 40 kids. needless to say im looking for some land in montana with a river on it!
