I like Tactacam as well. Been running 4 of them for a couple years with the solar panel and lithium battery pack and they have been very reliable.
“303 Aerospace Protectant” has worked well for me the past couple years. I use it on boat seats, snowmobiles and my tonneau cover.
I should clarify, I don’t silicone the entire running board as that would be slippery, just the front lip and the lowering mechanism. I also have a nice set of mudflaps that do a good job of keeping junk off them.
I’ve always treated mine with silicone and haven’t had a problem yet. Not saying they are perfect but I love mine.
Rams 4 corner air suspension has an entry mode that really gets the truck low. And the retractable running boards go lower than regular fixed running boards. My 92 year old grandma can get in and out pretty easily.
The output of the charger is 12V AC but the inlet is DC. The Rams outlet is 115 DC. It is not possible at 400 watts for that outlet to put out more than 3.47 amps.
The reason you can run a single bank on the starting battery is because it’s not drawn down far enough that the charger ever needs 6 amps. Assuming it’s an automatic charger unless the battery gets below half it never will produce 6 amps. Google is your friend here guys.
No way are you running 30A off that. My ram has the outlets and yes it’s 400W but at 115 volts. simple method to figure this out is take 400/115=3.47 amps. Trickle charger or maybe an aerator on your minnows is about all it’s good for.
I’ll only comment on asphalt boots since that’s what I’ve been doing for the last 21 years. I found these about 5 years ago and they are the best by a long shot. The sole can handle up to 592 degrees and they have a light 200 gram insulation which contrary to what most people think actually helps keep the heat out. I can walk on the 300 degree mat right behind the screed if needed and it barely leaves a mark.
If your not primarily around asphalt I would pass on these though. The sole is flat and can be a bit slippery on other surfaces.
I love how the Wild knew they could get into Binnington’s head and played him like a fiddle…
And the Blues are stuck with that psycho until the end of ’26-’27 season at $6 million a year.
Of course this one’s on TNT and not Bally/ESPN
I’ve been limited to the radio broadcast for this absolute mess of a game
Good way to describe it! This second period has been highly entertaining
Would have been nice to see binnington get his clock cleaned by anybody, goalie or not
Hey Bearcat that’s nice to hear. Just curious, was it registered as a fleet vehicle in Canada? From what I’ve read that was the only way to transfer warranty. Don’t know why that would matter, but it’s another internet rumor I have seen.

Here’s an article from 2002 when Chrysler instituted this.
Saw on some other sites/threads where a used Mazda bought in the US had some issues and US dealers would not warranty the problem because it was sold in Canada originally. Total BS if it is true.
I have read this all over the Ram forums as well. If it was built for the Canadian market the warranty in the U.S. is gone. Worth looking into. Talk to the service manager at the dealership and try to get something in writing if possible.
For me the worst 2 are Arctic cat, and Brp. Don’t know why but my eyes actually sting following my brother and his Ski doos. For the last 10 years or so I’ve been using Mystik full synthetic snowmobile oil. Cold pour point is excellent, low smoke and cheap for a full syn. Fleet Farm and L&M Fleet supply both carry it .
Actually it’s under $30 a gallon right now at FF.
you shouldn’t have to do any thing to the oil injection at all. After a over hall I us a coat hanger and hook the the leaver for the oil pump with the motor running pull it up. If it smokes you out of the shop then you know its working.
That’s the same thing I do. I’ve always heard that Yamaha engineered the pump so when it fails it does so at wide open so you’ll be using so much oil it will be noticable.
I don’t have experience with that era of Yamaha sleds but I saw that on my 2000 sxr700. It was using 3 qts of oil per tank of gas! Way too much. At that age and sitting, the clutches would my worry.
Yep, nothing I wrote after the first paragraph would have saved your engine if it failed from the rings not properly mating. Guess I turned it into more of a personal rant. Sorry, hope everything works out.
A quick google search brings up what sounds like a known issue with the piston rings not mating correctly with the cylinders on that particular engine. That would certainly explain your blowby issues. I’m guessing your powertrain warranty is 60,000 miles like most gas engines now days. It’s a known issue but won’t be proactively fixed cuz if the engine lasts till 60,001 they are off the hook.
Do you check your oil regularly? Did you notice the oil level getting lower? How many miles on your OCI (oil change interval)? I know you said it’s been dealer maintained and that’s good since it doesn’t give the dealer much wiggle room to deny your warranty. The bad part about dealer maintained is the 18 year old lube tech dumping your oil in a giant tub isn’t going to notice if your 2 qts. low.
I’m also not a believer in the extended OCI’s all manufacturers are pushing nowadays. Engines are being built with such tighter tolerances than they used to be, they absolutely need clean oil. Cams, lifters, timing chains, and turbos all need proper lubrication. And the dealer is using the cheapest bulk semi-synthetic they can get their hands on.
I know not everyone has the time or ability to do their own maintenance like I do. But I keep my vehicles a long time and the peace of mind knowing it was done right with the best products I can get my hands on helps me sleep a little better at night.
I’ve had mine for 4 years and have never had a problem with the regular green canisters. Coleman or Worthington brand.
Good call on the overwrite feature! Just looked at my settings and I have that too! Glad you like the Tactacams. I had no real experience with cameras until these and I don’t think I could be much happier. Pretty easy setup, better range than I expected and nice videos. I’m going to leave 3 of the 5 cameras I have in the field throughout the winter. More for security purposes than anything but I’ll be interested to see how they hold up, especially the solar part of it.
The amount of cover will definitely play a factor in the effectiveness. I don’t remember for sure but I believe the solar panel cable is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-8′ long so you can try to position it in the most light possible.
That’s the pack I was referring to. Follow the directions and fully charge it before putting it to use and it alone will outlast a set of batteries. Paired with the solar panel and the only time you’ll have to disturb your cameras is when the SD card is full. It won’t send pics once the card is full.
I’m so glad I’ve got the cameras I do before they were discontinued. As you can see the cost to add all these accessories starts to add up! Hence my comment about building a product too good for too cheap.
Do yourself a favor and get the solar panel with lithium battery pack. I’ve got 5 of the now discontinued SK model and they came with a solar panel and the lithium pack. I suspect they discontinued it because it was to good of a product at to low a price, $169.
The lithium pack alone will outlast a set of batteries but if you pair it with the solar panel it’s virtually unstoppable. Mine have been out since March and the batteries are still reading 100%. We’ll see how they do over winter.
http://www.car-part.com will let you search junkyards for parts. There are actually quite a few available for your vehicle.
It’s alright for getting the camera setup exactly where you want it without using up your cellular data, that’s what they mean when they say “instant image capture”. But yeah, I think you’d have better range if it was bluetooth.
The wi-fi for the Tactacam Reveal X is only for setup in the field. You literally have to have your phone right next to it.
Spurgeon’s not gonna survive this game let alone the series if something doesn’t change.
