Now days some people use a duct cleaning service after buying a house with nasty duct work, picky peeps will have them cleaned when needed. I’ve been in homes that I wouldn’t take my shoes off and others that are so clean I hate to enter, the latter will, most of the time, spend the $ to have this done. My house is somewhere in between the two seen mostly nowadays later latter ladder

I bought a demo/new motor and long time ago, never again. It was the dealer I bought it from and really not the motor, they just never fixed it. I sent Mercury for a long drive up their back side and it was fixed. Proceed with caution, get it in writing or just buy a new one. Good luck please keep us posted on your decision.

My boss just bought a 2012 2500 Jimmy with the 6.2L. We think it must of been engineered in part by the oil companies as his truck REALLY likes the gas. He was hoping for more power from the 6.2 pulling the enclosed trailer and his large travel trailer, it does a nice job but he was not overwhelmed by the power that he thought he was getting. His 05 and my 00 5.3L mpg were/are so much better than the 6.2L. I told him that the cost difference compared to diesel would buy a lot gasoline. Pulling a trailer only on occasion I would lean to the 5.3L. These are only my observations and opinions and from what I hear they aren’t worth two cents.

I just searched the forums to find this info about my 1998 150 opti. I found everything(I hope) I needed to know. I’m going to take it a Mercury dealer and have the water pump impeller service and the codes read and I might as well spend some of your money and put new plugs in, oh wait it’s my money, check the temp sensors and maybe see what else they recommend.I bought some opti oil at the dealer and he said regular quicksilver oil will foul the DFI injectors. Great read thanks everyone. matt
