I left them a message on July 3rd and finally called them back with a promise of a return call today, but nothing but crickets!!

Using Vaseline prior to getting in the water helps a lot! In addition, a friend of my daughter’s just told use to use a soap by Purex called Fels-Naptha. We ordered it online, but are still waiting to receive it.we will be trying it this weekend and staying in deeper water!

I finally have reached my breaking point. After 15 years on the lake I am selling and going to a more family friendly lake. I feel bad for everyone up here including but not limited to the resorts, restaurants, bait stores, gas stations etc. I literally spent hundreds of dollars on opening weekend on gas alone. I would be surprised if I ever wet a line again in Mille Lacs! wave

It was heartbreaking a couple of weeks ago when my 7 year old grandson was in tears because it was too windy to fish Mille Lacs. He is just getting into fishing this year. He is now explaining fishing to his dad! He is like a sponge and he soaks up everything I have taught him! He now goes by Captain George when he fishes instead of Eli! It is jester hilarious! grin

Thanks to everyone for all the replies so far! Looks like I have chosen an awesome lake. I have been on Mille Lacs for the last 15 years and just can’t stand all the various rules. It is time for a change. My grandchildren are 7 and 9 now and I believe a smaller yet decent size lake is a good choice for them as well! toast

Thanks for the reply. We will have to delay our trip for a couple weeks. We are going to help near Alexandria after the tornadoes. Good luck to everyone!

I have a tendency to do that as well! Yes, I am looking for lakes on 47. I have fished some of the lakes on the west side already.

Thanks to everyone! Looks like we got lucky! Sounds like the weather is absolutely terrible at Devils 😈 right now! 65 degrees and 10 mph winds this weekend! Last time I was there I got a planner board caught in a tree 🌳 😅! Went zig zagging through the trees looked down at my graph and it was lighting up like a Christmas Tree 🎄! Dropped the slip bobbers down and caught numerous walleyes! grin

Just a few more days and we will be there! We are pretty pumped up! I bought way too much additional tackle! I sure hope the number 5 Flicker Shads work! I have every color under the rainbow 🌈 now!

Very slim pickings for size around the lake. I drove from Mille Lacs back towards home to go to prine and their leeches are pretty decent. I bought jumbos. They are not selling them right now for more than 2 dozen at a time. Can buy as many 2 dozen containers you like. Definitely worth the time and gas money to me. waytogo

I do the same thing as Howard. Leave it unlocked with miscellaneous low value items. Life jackets, towels, my back up/ 2nd old drift sock. On a side note I started hanging my throw cushion from a back rod holder using it for a cushion next to my Engle cooler holding my shiners. Flip the cushion over the side before I gas up at the dock for extra protection to my boat. So far so good!

Never received the promised return call. Called near the end of the day and the person I talked to said that particular person left early. This person was very sympathetic and explained all of the managers had left for the day. Once again I was promised a call today. This time from a manager. You guessed it, no call! I guess there strategy and procedure is to ignore customers and hope they go away! Well they accomplished their goal! I am tossing the two nets in the trash and moving on. Case closed! Well done Frabill!

Too much fishing and not enough sleep! The price is kind of critical!
