Hard to believe that last post was 17 years ago today. I continued to fish the Rock occasionally until 3 years ago. Decided to take a break, but now got the itch again. Plan on going back next week. Not a fan of the newer size regulation, but that’s beyond my control. Hopefully I can catch something that’ll be worthy of posting about. Good luck out there and as always, stay safe.

Tried it again last Friday with the same results SKUNKED !!! Not even a carp or sheepshead to show for my efforts. Saw a couple dozen boats throughout the day and no one was doing any good that I saw. Really disappointing spring for me so far. 3 trips to Ft Atkinson and 2 trips here and nothing. Gonna keep on pushin on. Good luck out there !!

Well I decided to take a ride to Osh Kosh yesterday. Tried it from Rainbow Park for an hour with no luck. Went over by the mouth and had the same result. It was VERY windy. Water was really getting churned up and was really dirty. Just picked the wrong day to go. Talked to the guy at the bait shop and he said they were getting fish in Winneconne. A lot of spawned out females. Definitely will go back next week. Heading to Ft Atkinson today. Good luck out there !

Fished from shore by the Bark river yesterday. Caught or snagged about a dozen sheepshead. No other fish caught. Saw a few carp and dogfish caught by others. Saw about 7-8 boats by the 106 bridge.

3 years, 4 months since posting.

Here we go again. Time to get fishing and posting. I’m waiting to hear from
my Osh Kosh source on when the river opens up. Once I get fishing, I will post locations, set-ups and results. Looking forward to helping shore anglers get out and catch more fish.

Hoping to make it over in a couple weeks. Looks like the weather may cooperate and cool the river down. River fishing in Autumn. It’s the most wonderful time of the year !!

    Good luck fellas.

It is a graph of how deep the water is on the Rock River in Ft Atkinson, Wisconsin. Pretty self explanatory. Once again, it is a graph of how deep the water is on the Rock River in Ft Atkinson, Wisconsin.

It shows the water level of the ROCK RIVER indicated by a gauge near the Hwy 26 bridge.

Got out yesterday and got 2 short walleyes and 1 short sauger. All between 14 – 15 inches. So no walleye for Thanksgiving dinner. Hey Jeff, that was me that threw a wave at ya.

No luck on Thursday. Beautiful day though. Might have to revise my “last trip to the Rock river this season” post. With temps expected around 60 on Wednesday it will either be the Rock or the Fox in Osh Kosh…

Fished from noon to 3 on Friday. A couple hits and nothing else. Great day to be out. Jeff, were you out in a white alumacraft by the bark river?

If any of you gentlemen get out on the river, I’d appreciate it if you could post the water temperature. Thank you and good luck.

Jeff, the pictures are from 11/4/11 and they were catching fish. Not fast and furious but they did net some.

Fished from shore in Ft Atkinson today. Dead sticked fatheads on floaters and gold hooks. Decided to try casting. Got 5 whitebass, all around 9 inches which I threw back and a 16 1/2″ walleye which i will be dining on Friday. Was using a green, chartreuse and white 3/8 oz jighead with a chartreuse power grub.
