Good info. Thanks! So the big girls are still coming up shallow then. I’ve got some suckers, rainbows, and fatheads still from last weekend. I’ll probably start shallow and work my way out if needed.

Rough weekend nhamm. Hopefully ours will be better. So far I’m thinking we will try pine point/ goose island area or around horseshoe bay. Just going to try all depths and see what comes up.

Somewhat common issue with these. I am a gm technician and have repaired quite a few of these. Yes gm oil consumption spec-1 qt every 2000 miles is acceptable. If you run in when lower it will burn more. Also an 11 should have the updated afm valve deflector in the oil pan and updated drivers side valve cover with improved pcv operation. These are the first stage of updates performed on an oil consumer, then stuck piston rings will be the cause if these do not help. Have repaired a few that the afm cylinder lifters can stay locked open and will not push the valve causing misfires and cam and lifter replacement is necessary. I have an 06 iron block aluminum head 5.3 non afm. 236000 miles pulls the ice castle like a dream. Does not burn a drop. Also keep to regular oil changes and don’t believe the crap about going longer. The oil will still collect blow by gasses and can do damage to bearings over time. Sorry for the rant just wanted to shed some light on what happens to these.

You should be fine with that year. Make sure to check and grease the axle shafts every year and you will not have problems. I just bought a new one. Drilled and tapped 2 extra grease zerks for each axle the 2nd weekend I had it

Hi all first post here. Have followed for a while and really like this site. I did make it to the show. First time ever going to this show. Did get a pretty good deal from Thorne on a downsized but upgraded house from the clam voyager tcx that I recently sold. Looking forward to the St Paul show. Hopefully some ice soon also. Have 2 new houses this year and itching to get them out!!!
