Great fish and even more impressive is catching them on a 1/16th ounce jig.

I call her while I’m on the water to tell her that “I know I’m supposed to be home now, but they are just starting to bite”

I still plan on getting out with you and watching you do a repeat on this one. Great fish to be caught again.

I will apply it in the morning but also I am not overly concerned about scent because everything else we touch will mask it (gas, oil, smokes, coffee, etc.)

The Super Deal will not be worth it the first time you need the extra power to present your bait properly. You will regret not getting the largest trolling motor you can afford. I got a Super Deal on a 55 and wish I had the real deal on an 80 or 101.

Great pictures and a fine fish cleaning crew you have. I do have Lake Wisconsin on my list of “to do’s” before I die.

When we trap here we use a couple sleces of stale dried bread and leave the trap overnight. Just like river fishing location is critical and deep holes or current breaks are prime locations

I do not believe you can have overkill unless you do not go out in windy conditions. I also have an assortment of drift socks, some are over 30 years old. If you get one without a dump strap I have simply tied a short rope from the bottom of the bag to about halfway up the main line and when I get to the dump rope I simmply finish pulling it in that way. Some of my bags have floats and spring wire and some of them are just bags. They all work on the same principal so according to your budget I would recommend at least three bags which can be used in combination to get the exact drift speed according to the wind conditions.

A composite prop will not take the dings that an aluminum will. I had a composite prop once and the launch rope snuck over the side while under power and was just long enough to tick the prop. I ended up limping in on a one blade prop so for my 2 cents it is much cheaper to fix the dings than buy a new composite prop.

If you are looking for a professional looking blade it is much more cost effective to buy them already painted. The cheapest way I know of is to just buy some bottles of lure dip ( I use Quick-Coat at Cabela’s) and you can change the color instantly and catch just as many fish as the professional painted blades.

The cheaper ones are usually closouts or else just don’t have all the bells and whistles on the newer more expensive ones. They all show the same information but you need to be able to read it. This comes with practice and by going over water you know so you learn to tell stumps, rocks, weeds, sand, mud, and most of all fish and baitfish. I use Eagle and I am really happy with them, but I have never used a Garmin. I am sure they are all basically the same.
