Really, gauges, warning buzzers & bells. I agree with mark-bruzek how *^#?>_< have we become. Maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to have a drivers license.

Frontier was the only “hard wire” internet available in my area. It would go out for no reason, when you called, and as an earlier comment said wait time was up to 20 min. or longer. Then they had no idea why it was out although it was an area wide outage, which the last time was THREE DAYS. Our Frontier serviceman retired who very good, and we dropped them. Where I live we chose Verizon Hotspot which our son has been using and liked it. It’s been cheaper than Frontier and we haven’t experienced outages every two weeks.

I haven’t read all the posts, but what I have read, it’s no wonder nothing gets done in DC, no one agrees, name calling, it sounds just like Congress, and nothing get’s done. I can’t imagine losing a child or in my grand child to some deranged animal who got his hands on a gun. I read one post about the kids protest. Shame on you, you talk about the constitution and 2nd amendment, that is their !st amendment rights. No I am not a liberal!!!! My only post on this.

Didn’t realize I was going PO a bunch of people with a simple question, you would think I said something bad about the Pope. Sorry I did not realize you were all so sensitive. I will see if my post can be deleted.

Maybe if you fish lakes the fishing hasn’t changed, rivers change all the time. Mississippi changes every year.

I’ve read where you cannot put a Garmin sv transducer on a Power Drive MinnKota. It’s too long, it won’t go between the skeg and prop. Any comments? I know this is true with Side image Lowrance transducer. So far Humminbird looks like the only option if you want Side image on the front.

My concern would be, If you use a self tapping plug or helicoil, there are metal filings that could get into the crankcase. These filings could get picked up by the oil pump and circulated through the lubrication system. A friend of mine just had a new 150HP yamaha power head replaced, $6000, and that did not include labor.

Bottom line, if you pay it they will charge it. Look at the cruck,,, “car cross bred truck” market. Drive the lots, how many “crucks” do you see as opposed to REAL trucks. I am retired from manufacturing. When I was still working, in a factory meeting a question was asked to upper management. How do you determine what to charge for our product? Answer “whatever the market will bear.” Goes back to my original statement. Brad’s statement about the banks also hits it. People are suckers, they don’t think about what they paid, they think, can I make that payment.

OK, you say CHIRP is worth it, and I am not disputing you, but would you spend $400 more for a Humminbird over a Lowrance to get CHIRP.

I would be gun shy about Garmin. Unless my research on SD chips for their units are wrong they are very disappointing, unless you are fishing large lakes or coastal waters.

I have a Lowrance 102C, 10 yrs. old, shows fish arches. Its been a good unit, but its time to up grade. This was my first depth finder, so I experienced a learning curve. I am in the same boat you are. I’ve done a lot of research. Everyone talks about CHIRP frequency in their line of depthfinders, don’t know if it’s worth it, but, Lowrance, Raymarine, and Garmin are offering it in their most basic units. Humminbird only makes this available in their higher end units, $1000 plus. Also I am looking at a combo unit which makes my decision a little more difficult, because of availability SD mapping chips, for my midwest area, Miss. river which Raymarine, and Garmin are very disappointing. I have a friend with a Humminbird 899 SI, nice unit. Randy talks about processor, I would definitely agree. Don’t get in a hurry. Do not buy used.
