Thanks, yeah it was a pretty decent fish for where we were at. First time we had fished that lake also so got lucky the fish were where we hoped.

    I believe most use a 15-30amp. I think my 7″ Garmin uses a 20 or 25.

I’d go dark red, purple, and motor oil as my top 3. I always stay natural, as I’ve outfished many people using those bright unnatural colors especially on big panfish and on pressured lakes.

Take a look at Garmin’s striker 7 also, I picked that over a helix 7 and am very pleased with it so far in open water. Have the ice ducer, portable case, and I feel the sonar is more crisp and has better target separation for the flasher dial.

I picked up the base model cheap on Amazon for banging around this winter. Should be interesting to see how it holds up lol.

I fish outside quite a bit, I like my 32″+ rods. I just adjust holes and shack for fishing inside with them.

You aren’t going to get many opposed to Marcum on this forum, and for good reason! +1 on 5i or a 6s.

In for info on this. I’m looking into a helix 7 ice set up, and for open water.

Some real nice flowage fish there! That number of quality fish makes for a special day. Can’t wait for hard water up there.

Would you guys recommend the same screw/impact drivers for using with an auger attachment?

Thank you sir, it was a brute for sure. I’ll have to post up the video of catching it, I had to wrench it through a 8″ hole lol

I run both sienna and President reels, enjoy them both, but the president has a slightly smoother drag.

I’m so excited I can’t stand it! Hunting might have to take a back seat to fishing this fall for me. Way too many Muskies, Lake Trout, and Walleyes to catch with the new rig.

I’m going all Garmin Echo maps. 3 93SV’s. 1 on the bow 2 on the stern with Pan-Optics. Terrova 101 on the bow along with a Vantage 101 on the stern. Tracks instead of rails and a 12′ Talon on the back!!!

Should be an awesome multi species setup. From Great Lakes trout and salmon to bass and muskies, I think i’ll be able to do it all out of this rig.

Big thanks to SBC on helping me get everything squared away!

My lord, what a sweet set up! Those Garmins are the bees knees.

I would have told him right there that you would be expecting a ride/trip in the new rig for compensation on time missed! cool

I think a Precision and Commander would be the best choice. Thanks guys, shooting you an email John.

I’m thinking it will fit my needs for larger fish set ups. Now I can’t wait to use one, and it’s 80 some degrees outside lol. Would the PP be better for smaller rippin/jigging raps and around 1/8 spoons? Few spots I fish the fish (eyes) can be picky and prefer smaller presentations most of the time.

Thanks for the info John. I’m almost thinking of just picking up both. I will be fishing the Winnebago system more this year predominantly using jig raps, the PP would be nice for that. I will shoot you an email to discuss further. Thanks.

Thanks for input James. How does the Commander compare to the PP other than the obvious stiffer backbone? Tip sensitivity/taper much different? I like the longer rod choices of the Commander also.

Mainly using spoons for the eyes. Simple hook/weight for the cats/pike.

Sounds like a fun trip! Really been wanting to fish with him. Might have to book a trip this winter.
