Are you talking about the tournament yokels that hold youth fishing clinics, fund fish cleaning shacks, preach about invasive species, hand out scholarship to future outdoorsman or raise funds for children’s hospitals??? To me it appears these yokels usually support the fishery/community more so than most. I would venture that the organizations running tournaments care more for the fishery than the average angler and give back more than the average angler.. CPR tournaments and tourny size limits have been used for years, not because they have to but because they care about the future of the fishery..

I highly doubt that happened considering cats are farmed now and can be bought by the 1000s with one phone call by any baitshop.. and guys were still buying them 15 minutes before takeoff Saturday morning..

The majority of the lake has a distinct break line that ranges from 12-20 ft, with the rapidly dropping water Id concentrate on these break lines, either trolling cranks or bait will work, lots of points will hold fish as well.

There’s kayaks, canoes, fishing boats, ski boats, sailboats, jet skis, paddle boards, yahts and barges on Pepin.. All can be enjoyed with the same common sense as every other body of water. Have fun!!

Current is not an issue on the central part of Pepin .. might be a few floating hazards and keep an eye on the graph, I’m assuming Stockholm rock pier is under the surface and possibly others.

Both lake City ramps were open on Friday, Coville in red wing was under again.. Everts upper ramp is open and big dock is back in the water. Not sure if Baypoint is open.

It’s a personal vendetta that a couple people have set forward for their own reasons, they won’t be happy till Everts isn’t available to anyone.. be a sad day when there is only 1 ramp to use, gonna have to get there early..

It was a solo fisherman in his early 20s.. and the guide had no kids in boat. I don’t believe any kids witnessed it.. thank goodness

I was at the resort when the call came in. The young man who spotted the body did it all right, he flagged down another boat, called 911 and stayed with the body. One of the guides was called in to assist in getting the recovery team up to the body. Great job by both the angler and the guide.. if the body was left to float they probably would still be looking for it. The body was discovered shortly after the rollers were opened so I’m assuming she came from up above

Does the motor say etec on it? I believe 2004 is still the ficht motor. If this is a 200 ho direct inject “flag” motor be prepared for some mechanical surprises. The injectors fail and you won’t be able to find a new one or rebuild the used one, they don’t exist anymore.. call any Evinrude mechanic and ask them about the d.i. motors and they will give you an idea what your in for.
Also, see if the lower unit has been upgraded from the old lightning l.u. to the mag

We had just as much snow on the ground in 2014, it was a gradual melt that didn’t result in anything above ordinary. I think the fact that we got it all in one month is making people run to higher ground.

gen 2 has the map sharing and will hold more waypoints than the gen 1.

gen 2 will work with a motorguide xi5

gen 2 has faster boot-up time and I believe has wifi capabilities..

And im sure some other small differences

All that being said, I ran gen 1 10s for years and loved them.. Put a gen 1 and gen 2 side by side while fishing and they perform the same

I haven’t been out during the day but I have heard good and bad reports.. I have ventured out in the afternoon and done well
