My wife saw the same ad you are talking about. When I called my local office they told me that the phone service was not yet available but would be coming sometime this year. When you do want to change service call your local office and skip the 800 charter. The woman at the local office hooked me up with 3m internet, digital cable with hbo starz and encore, and a dvr box for 94.99 + tax. She also told me that when you make a service change with 800 charter, they will not let you make another change for 90 days. However, at the local office she could make a change whenever I want.

I put an aftermarket system in my 02 ext cab GMC this last summer. I went with an Alpine 9825 that I bought off ebay for around $100. It came with the RCA input adapter which works nice for my portable MP3 player. It also has 3 sets of 4V preouts with sub control. The deck itself does not play mp3s though.
Then I installed mbquart components in the front doors. I made some plates to mount the tweeters in and bolted them in. The factory tweeter plates have cheep tabs on them that break real easy. I also put some dyno mat on the door behind the speakers and around the speaker hole where the mids mount. Then a bit of foam weather stripping on the back side of the door panels around the mids. The idea is to make the inside/backside airspace of the mids seperate from the cab.
I have a single elemental design 10″ subwoofer mounted in a homemade sealed box downfiring under the drivers side backseat. This is a dual 2 ohm sub that I have wired in series for a 4 ohm load.
All speakers are powered by a US Acoustics 4 channel amp. I have the front stage powered off of channels 1 and 2. Then channels 3 and 4 bridged to power the sub. I bought the 4 guage amp wiring kit from knuconcepts.com.
I am very happy with this setup and have less than 700 total invested.
If you need any more help or advice on sources for parts let me know.August 30, 2006 at 12:03 pm #416217Upper Sakatah is the main lake. Lower Sakatah is the smaller lake under the bridge on the northeast corner by the island. I have launched in the channel in waterville and navigated the channel and both sakatah and tetonka in the past. I have not been out there lately though and can’t comment on water level. Tetonka is the better lake to fish with more structure. There is also a landing on the south side of tetonka. You can look up the lake maps and info on minnesota dnr website. Also some good info on fishingminnesota.

Also make sure you put a fuse or breaker as close to the battery as possible on the positive post. You can buy a 40 amp circuit breaker at either your marine dealer or fleat farm that comes with a metal strap to bolt directly to your battery.
May 10, 2005 at 6:34 pm #362311If you don’t live near either of these stores, then you could get by just stopping at the auto parts store. Napa I know for sure has the circuit breakers, and also the ring terminals to fit the 6 guage. The circuit breakers at the auto parts store won’t have the brass piece though. So either you will have to make one or use a really short piece of your 6 guage with two more ring terminals.
May 10, 2005 at 6:31 pm #362310They sell inline fuse holders at marine dealers. What works really well are circuit breakers. They also sell these at marine dealers. I’ve also seen them at Fleet Farm. I would think that a 40 Amp would be sufficient for that trolling motor. The circuit breakers have two studs on them. One of these studs has a brass strip bolted on to it that you just bolt to the battery. Then attach a ring terminal to your wire lead and bolt that to the other stud on the breaker.
April 23, 2005 at 9:37 pm #358958I ran into the same problem with my recent installation. I decided to skip the plugs altogether, and use the proper size ring terminals on the wiring going to my batteries. Then I just bolted those to the ring terminals that came on the end of the trolling motor wires. Then I slid some large shrink tube over the connections and black taped to hold in place. I did see some butt connectors at NAPA that you can use to join 6 guage to 8 guage if you want to go that route. Wayne
April 22, 2005 at 12:21 pm #358667I would run 6 guage wire. You should be able to buy it buy the foot at NAPA. You can also get the ring terminal ends to crimp on the cables there. You need to Fuse it as close to the battery as possible. Napa sells small circuit breakers that would work also. If you are close to a marine dealer, they have the circuit breakers that include a little brass strap so you can bolt it directly to the battery. Then bolt your positive lead to the breaker. The circuit breakers are auto resetting. I would go with a 40 amp. The reason for fusing is to protect your boat from burning up if you have a short anywhere in the wiring. I’m amazed that the trolling motor installation guides don’t stress this.
