The engine is run and tuned , then drained for shipping . The bottle is all that’s needed from there on .

Don’t pack your bags yet! Had a couple buddies up there today . Ice varies greatly , you may be on 3″ and move 10′ and only find 1.5″ . Area they walked out on opened a few hours later . Fishing was awesome , eyes were commuting suicide , big eyes also .

I have also confirmed my reel reservation and made payment . I have seen and handled the eagle claw version . I love the concept and am convinced this will be a game changer .

Thanks ,Dean , for making the process simple and smooth ! Ihave a custom rod for mine , thats looks to match the colors and fishing ability perfectly . Now I just need the weather to cooperate! Look for pics to follow !!!!

Glad to hear this all has been resolved . Things may have changed a bit , but one thing remains the same . Rapala has made a committment to bring the best of everything to icefishing , via Ice Force .

This includes customer service . The method may have changed , the outcome remains the same !

I have been up to LOW last couple years , stayed in sleeper houses . While we have managed to catch at least one fish every year at night . Sleeper houses seem to be more for the partiers , they move the day houses daily . Keeping them on the bite better .

Best bite is mid-day , 9-3 approx. If i go up there this winter , I will stay at a resort and fish out of day houses . Its a little more expensive , but worth it for a indoor bathroom and showers ! Not to mention a good breakfast and supper .

I will throw in another vote for Kahtoola Microspikes , they work excellent . They are very easy to put on your boots , stay in place and you have excellent traction . There’s no slipping period , well placed stainless steel cleats keep you upright .

I have a wheeler and have tracks for it , I would recommend a sled , unless you want the ability to tow something onto the ice , like a skid house. I use my wheeler year round , so thats why I went that way .

A fan cooled sled , is the ultimate pure fishing machine. My polaris Sportsman 800 efi , with tracks , works great for me . Tracks allow me the ability to tow a skid house , no matter how deep the snow gets .

Buy a quality machine , either way you go , mobility is the key to better ice fishing !

I have a half dozen , well maybe closer to a dozen . They are addictive , cant stop collecting them . Greg has his act together , just talk to him , describe your fishing style and get exactly what you want .

His walleye rods are my favorite for big spoons for big perch and walleyes of all sizes . He makes a full flex , thats so sensitive I can feel a potato chip gill lip the bait , before it knows its too late . I use it when gills are very lite biteing and I cant get a good hook set with a spring bobber . I like to use different actions for different bites . He can build exactly what you need .

John makes a good point , it may also be a plugged fuel line or carb port . Last summer I stored my auger all summer with gas in it . About the middle of september I tried to start it . It fired right up , but bogged when I gave it gas . I had started it several times through the summer with no issues . I took carb off and it had some gelled fuel , a slime of sorts in the carb . Once I cleaned that out it ran great .

I picked up the new Honda Lite last week . I cant wait to get it on the ice . Its so quiet and easy starting I was sold . I plan to run a 6″ bit on it so power is no issue . I second the Lazer Pro for a mean lean drilling machine . It truely is a workhorse ….

Spoons have definetly changed the way I fish last few years . I still use jigs occasionaly , but spoons have become my first offense . Styles and colors vary accoring to lake .

Firetiger is my first choice , glow red a close second . I like orange , pink , purple , black , gold and silver . I like to use multi-color jigs and spoons. They offer a better chance at hitting the right color. I have favorites for different lakes I fish . But Firetiger or a clown pattern is always on at least one rod .

More so than color is style and shape , and I have really become a spoon fisherman. Spoons allow me to cover lots of water fast . Instead of finessing tight lipped fish , I refer to look for actively feeding fish .

There are times a finesse approach is best , especially when the wind is bad and moving is difficult. Then a small jig tipped with a plastic tail is my go to.
