Ok guys i think the problem was a little corosion on the battery which is pictured also the bolt next to the yellow wire was loose i tightened all bolts down.Going to run it tomorrow at a landing i hope and try it since i already got bitched at for turning the water off to the entire camp ground.so ill try it at a ramp and let you all know tomorrow night.and Grouse the little gear is turning and flying up.So as of now i hopefully solved the issue.Now i got a excuse to go fishing tomorrow

Well guys it ended up being my anchor was on the gas line.

It ended up just being a software update issue sat on the phone with hummingbird for a hour and a half now i gotta mess with it so i can learn how to read the unit.i read the manual now just gotta put time in on the water and simulator

Im gonna wait til friday when i get paid and go get a sd card from walmart then try it on the computer hopefully that will do the trick if not then might send it in for repair or look else where for a unit.The lady said i have the 7.15 version and now there up to the 7.712 or somethin like that so hopefully it will be taken care of.
Ive been looking at the lowrance units also they seem nice.
And Frydog 62 thanks for the tip about cabelas ill ask around and see if mills or scheels would do the same

I called humming bird this morning and was on hold for 20 mimutes they told me to update software which i gotta figure out how to do and where i can buy a micro sd card at.Im hoping that this will solve the issuse if not i half to send it im for a 80 dollar repair.if that happens i might switch units to lowrance because i was not happy at all with the customer service of humming bird.I love the helix but the company isnt there

I feel when i use a medium heavy that the weight of the bottom bouncer wont bend the rod as much.Making it able to see the ticking more.Im also looking at a medium heavy for spinnerbaits.
