    Follow-up Note:
New 1975 Tyee arrived at dealership by truck on May 25th. Checked it out last week and will pick it up this week. All accessories arrived except for the Mnn Kota Ulterra (major drag). Bow plate, power receptacle, and network cables to dash installed at factory. Dealership will install sonar/gps, transducer w/spray plate, and vessel view mobile. DTS and Panther power steering done at the factory as well. Thanks for your comments. Luke Leddy has been a pleasure to work with. Greg.

I’m the guy who originally asked the question. After a half-dozen phone discussions with mercury dealers and certified repair shops, I was lead to believe that the Pro XS is very reliable in fact. I don’t think you should be concerned. I was seeking clarification on the V6 vs. V8 noise level DB and fuel economy specs mainly. Enjoy your new rig!

Thanks guys! I am going to request a change in motor on the 1975 from the XS Pro to the XS Four in the 225hp. Any thoughts on digital throttle shift (DTS)? I should be able to get the motor with DTS and still save $1K. I’m going to enjoy the quiet cockpit and improved fuel economy of the V6. I really don’t care about the overall speed to be first to get there!

The poor rigging feedback is troubling to me. How much actual rigging does the dealership do when the Minnkota and H-bird sonar is ordered through Lund? If the dealership does it I may ask them to allow me to inspect all the cables, ties and connections before I take possession of the boat.

Good choice. Especially for getting that bow on top of the rough chop asap. Enjoy the new rig.

Dealership anticipates the delivery date of the 1975 Tyee to Shakopee MN early May 2022. Otherwise will be bobbing in my Lund SSV14 dinghy!

Thank you both for your comments. I went ahead with the 1975 and kept all the upgraded features. I want this boat to be with me for many years to come. I already planned for the tandem trailer and the extra foot length is all in the cockpit which makes it nice for landing fish outside the sport top tubing. This rig will be nice with the 225-hp and 36-v ulterra/hbird/ilink setup. Take it easy.
