    Agree.
A proper charger for the lithium batteries is 14.8 volts but comes with alligator clips which are not Vex/Lithium battery friendly. The Vex wiring harness has a nice female plug but the Lithium-Charger needs a matching male plug.

On page #52 the Lithium 40V 8″ auger PLUS EXTRA BATTERY is $599.99
    Adding the 8″ Lite-Flie @ $199.99… Total $799.98…
    Now you’ve got an 8″steel and 8″ lite-flite.

I also think there’s going to be some better deals on BLACK-FRIDAY.

I was in Cabelas (E Hartford) today and they had both the 6″ & 8″ Lite-Flites stacked up on the floor but nobody knew the prices.

Along side them were lots of K-Drills marked $269.
I questioned the sales person. Really?? $269. They really only cut a 7½” diameter hole. He didn’t have a clue.

They are in business to make money!
I would think about Black Friday they all will have their best products
    and deals front and center.
I predict ION will have a deal, Buy one and get a second battery free.
    Now they’re in the ball-park

    God Hates A Coward.
I’m not 100% sure but if you take a tubing cutter and cut off the top of your Nils auger shaft (after deburring) you’ll have a .875 diameter hole. That’s the same size as a Strikemaster-Power-Auger hole. Must be a adapter somewhere for that?

There are reasonable bait casters between 7 and 8 ounces that do everything a bait runner does.

Always good to hear the expert opinion from someone who has never owned or used the product. Sounds like a Yugo owner bashing a BMW.

Doesn’t anyone here on this site realize the 8″ Kdrill actually drills a 7.50 inch diameter hole NOT a 8″ hole. That’s a 15% smaller hole. The K-drill should be in court with a CLASS-ACTION law-suit. We should all get FREE new blades that will cut a 8″ hole.

Yes. It’s embarrassing to go fishing. Usually I have all 5 holes drilled before the gas auger guys can get their machines running.
5 years I had the Milwaukee 750″# then the 1200″# units with my own adapters and ClamPlates.
The MudMixer is easier to handle and lighter with more power than you need.
“NO you can’t borrow it”. I learned long ago the only way my auger gets screwed up is to let someone borrow it.
I keep 1 #2704/ClamPlate combo as a backup but I think it’s going to get set up with a old Mora just for the Pilgrims.

K-Drill is designed to run in the 400 to 500 rpm range to work effectivally,The Ion runs much slower.
Buy a Milwaukee MUD-Mixer, K-Drill, and find a Milwaukee battery/charger deal for 2-5ah or 9ah batteries w/charger and never look back at the whiners.

Finally got out today with my Milwaukee 8″ kdrill on 4″ of ice. I was quite impressed. Cuts well and faster then I expected, reverse dumps slush fine.

I was suprised by the clunkyness of start/stop – it made some pretty angry noises, and I learned to feather the throttle quickly. My float also seemed to slide down a bit which made the plastic plate rattle.

All in all I was very happy. I’m only 41, but the insane lightness of the unit was appreciated. If it continues to work well all season I’m not sure how long I will house my 2 stroke in the rafters…

I’ve noticed the same abrupt clunk/rattle when stopping. (talking about the new MudMixer) Asked the Milwaukee factory man if it was an electronic brake. He said he didn’t honestly know but will ask the factory.
I noticed if stopping while drilling the mechanical noise is not there. Also not there when breaking through a hole and stopping while the auger is still in the water.

K-drill adapter Clam Plate to K-drill is $14.99. It’s the top one in the picture. Looks to be available from Cabelas @ $14.99 with free shipping using the code 7HOLIDAY.

From looking at, running and measuring K-Drill and Clam optional accessories it looks like the K-Drill items are a bit more pricey but are mechanically spot-on size-wise. 2 of the 3 shafts I bought for my Clam-Plate (from Clam) had runout beyond what I deemed acceptable.
“My opinion only” buy your adapter for a K-Drill from K-Drill.

The Sportsman’s Guide offer of “double discount” sounds real good
but there’s fine print. No free shipping, that’s $20 and they charge out of state sales tax plus a sales tax on shipping. VERY shifty those guys.

And Cabelas had them (with aerator) stacked to the ceiling marked down to $55. Gone or moved now!

Hard to believe nobody talks about the dark grey inside and near impossible to see the bait.

    You show 2 different lengths.
    8mmx1.25 X 1.5″ long and
    8mmx1.25 X 30mm long. 30mm is 1.181″.

Auto propane conversions were the rage 15 years ago but that lasted only a few years. In extreme cold they leave a lot to be desired along with the weight penalty. The red and yellow guys are just picking up the crumbs. 4 stroke is nice but electric is the future.

Shimano Made Baitrunners (150, 250 and 300) back in the 1980’s.
They still make smaller baitrunners (DL2500FA and ST2500FA) but only available across the pond. Mine came from The Tackle Box in the UK.

700 in.lbs. is not enough torque for a 8 inch auger. (Mora, Strikemaster).
It is enough torque for most all 6″ augers.
    725 in.lbs. (last years Milwaukee M18) will run a 7″Mora, 7″Strikemaster lazer or the 8″ Nils.

The original StrikeLite were Subaru 4-stroke motors. Some think the motor was at least as good or better than the present motor. It was equipped with a (state of the art then) p-lastic flighting lite-weight shaft with Lazer like blades. The complete auger shaft weighed 4lbs 13 ounces, and it had a nice center point for starting a new or old hole. About 4 pounds less than the present Lazer augers. The shaft was discontinued because of complaints the flighting came off when the auger was stored in a almost thru hole that froze and the operator pulled +++.
Don’t know if the blades can be replaced or re-sharpened.

I bought the IPhone version 5+ years ago and it shows up (by the Cloud)
on newer IPhones, also on IPad Air but in the IPhone version, not HD.
Now on the IPad Pro it’s there, but less than half of the 12.9 Pro screen.

Rather disappointing to order a TUCR on-line and have to wait 4 + weeks, pay up front
+ S&H but those going to the show can buy them right now.

Lots of negative comments here from those that did not own a Icegator and/or experienced bad service. Some of those negative comments are from Einstiens that have trouble with the zipper on their pants.
The Icegator auger cuts holes in the ice “faster, cleaner, and with less noise than all of the others.

Looks like dealers might be selling it. Cabelas show it on their web-site. The price is shown as $229 but size is not. I called and after lots of different people they said it’s 6″. I replied that’s $29 over retail. The agent really didn’t care. He said “I’ll make a note of that, goodby”.

I know real men don’t read instructions, but.
The instructions say “grasp the webbing loop in the center of the roof and pull outward. Grasp the webbing loop located at the center of one of the walls and pull outward. Walk around the shelter and pop out each wall.
If you do it from the outside it opens real easy.
