Here in SW Wi. I looks like hard water fishing looks like after Christmas. We need cold weather,not only to ice fish but to keep diseases down, to to warm. right now.

The best fishing is coming. Last year we came to the lake to see not one person on the ice, wondered if that was bad ice,checked ice,ice great,25in thick. Went to favorite spot,no one there, drilled holes. cleaned holes. Caught fish to where I could only use one pole. Got limet,went home,cleaned fish. Ate fish for supper all week. True story. Best time to ice fish is coming.

I have both and like them both. I suppose that the ones that feed from the top are better but for me it really does not matter.

The braided ice line is great for warmer weather but the -20degrease the stuff just does not cut it, Holds to much ice for me.And I back it with some soft water line from one of my summer reels 10 test works great. Just my personal opinion.

Tractor Supply is where I go to get them filled.

I put a bobber stop on my line to mark the bottom. The bobber stop I am talking about is just a real small piece of rubber,comes in black and red,not as big as a head of a match,shaped like a foot ball. Works great. To make sure that you do not reel up to far,and stay in the depth you want.

While it is new use what is recommended,after that use your Amsoil . That is what I did with no problem. I know that 100 to 1 sounds light but this stuff works great. My small engine doctor uses it all the time.

We do a smiley face,5 holes for the mouth, the camera is the nose,some times up side down. Works great.

That is catching not fishing. Good Northern.

I still think that now that the bass population is growing since the 14in. size limit has went in effect. Now don’t get me wrong,I myself think that the size limit on bass is great.But I think that those bigger bass take a lot of the small gills. Just my opinion,and yes the do eat gills.

In our Frabil Predator we drill a smiley face type,5 holes for the smile the nose is the camera hole,use longer pole for the hole far frome you short closer to you. I do not know how much roon you have in your tent but we can make 8 holes and still be good.

Didn’t the snowmobile club use to have one? Years ago my Dad and I were down to that when the Far Enough was open. Them guys run a great Fisheree. One year I won two first places.

Uni Knot and Palomar are great but when I am a big hurry,the plain old cinch Knot works great. I used the cinch for 45 years till I discovered there was more than one way to tie knots.

Go to a good small engine doctor and take you spark plug with you,and get a NGK plug that will match. I was in the service station business for years and this is the only plug that stood up to all that it had to offer. Real sad that a spark plug made in another country,works better than anything made in USA.
I am opening up a cup of worms here but just ask anyone that has any thing to do with spark plugs and see.

I have a saying (all ice is safe till it breaks the it is bad ice)Just be real careful.

Buy a Strike Light 2 1/2 hp. and just have fun.

All ice is good till it breaks then it is poor ice. My idea of good ice is ice that when you drill, till the auger disappears under the top of the ice,she is safe, you can take your diesel on the ice. Until spring when the ice gets rotten.

I recently had open heart,at Mayo in Rochester Mn. And was told to get a living will made up. Well nothing like waiting till the last minute,the night before surgery went to the lawyer,and a good friend of mine,and had it written up. The cost was $400. When you get older and get you home paid for have a little savings,lots of ice fishing equipment,you know,all that stuff the means something to you.You can give it out to who you want it to. Even you house,if it is both of your names,there needs to be a statement that if something happens to me,or to my wife the house is mine or hers. Do not have to have a lawyer to settle this. Even you automobiles.

And you do not have to change line like you would on reg. Line.On my soft water reels I change my braid every 3 years. I just reel the old line off to a new reel that I had backing on . This works great.

You just gave me what I needed to tell my wife when I buy a new ice fishing pole, I collect them. That works,yes I collect them. Sounds better than hording them. Fat Fish (Jerry)

Do like I do,get mad,go buy a new one. Then work on the old one and fix it,now you have 2.It always seems like when I get a new one,it is easier to fix the old one. Buy the way if you just heat that end eyelet,good and hot,a cig. lighter works great. Small wire and work it out. Take your time this will work. I have done this. Remember be creative. Jerry

I am disabled and Ice Fish,I need my ATV to be able to go.And I will go when there is plenty of ice to hold Me,my son the ATV all the equipment. And with the weather looking good,it will not take long.A foot of ice is good,24in.of ice is better. Fat Fish
