Do you ever fish deep with it? I have a few holes that are around 60 ft I fish. Also does anyone know why Marcum does this?

My vote is for a polar plunge! Make him dive for it and film it. Could maybe even win some money on AFV with it. The magnet is also a good idea.

January 5, 2014 at 10:26 am #1376921What colors does this unit have? Does it have the green, yellow, and red like a true color or is it red, yellow, and orange? Looking at getting one of these.

Thanks for the help! I couldn’t find his contact info on there. But I don’t use craigslist often so I am not sure if I missed something. Do you happen to have a way to contact him at all?
I don’t think you missed anything, his contact info has never been listed in the ad and you can’t “reply” to the ad for some reason.I attempted to get his contact info when the ad first went up a couple weeks ago, but I never heard back from the guy. Good luck, I hope you are successful in scoring that deal. I ended up settling a different LX5 for $375 and I’m not regretting it at all.
Thank you for the help! I also found a used lx3 without the true color. What would be a good offer on a unit like that?January 4, 2014 at 10:02 am #1376707Quote:

I fish mostly sloughs like that but they are a lot farther than 20 miles west of Fargo. I actually thought I knew what slough but its about 60 miles from Fargo. Casselton is right about at the 20 mile mark and everything to that point gets drain tiled for ag fields. I was just surprised when you said that short of a distance. Sorry for causing any trouble. It was not my intentions.
December 29, 2013 at 10:34 pm #1374977What lake are you guys on? I live in Fargo and haven’t heard of any lakes 20 miles to the west hitting good yet. I do most of my fishing about 60 miles west.
December 29, 2013 at 10:17 pm #1374975How do you guys like this unit? I am looking at getting one. Kevin how does it work with suspended crappies?
December 29, 2013 at 4:54 pm #1374884Sorry to keep bringing this up. I think I know what I want then I read something new. I have it down the a Marcum vx-1p or a lx-3tc. I was wondering if the vx-1p has true color or not? I thought I read somewhere it did. Second is this really worth 100 dollars more? I know the zoom is adjustable but most of my zoom use will be on the bottom anyway.
December 27, 2013 at 6:25 pm #1374582Ron- I already have the unit. For 100 dollars it comes with the ice transducer, battery, and bag.
mnm- The problem with that manual is that it is for all the mark series. I know that the pro has the split screen but I don’t have some of those options for my menu on mine.December 27, 2013 at 10:54 am #1374464I found the ice pack for 100 dollars. It has now come down to that hooked up to my Mark 5x off the boat or the Marcum VX-1P. I like the way flashers work. I also like the zoom and I don’t know if my Mark has it or not. Also color is something I like. With all this said though it is a bit of a price jump. And I have heard some guys like the graph style. So any thoughts on these two units?
December 26, 2013 at 2:23 pm #1374267So with all this talk I have it narrowed down to the Showdown, vx-1p, lx-3tc, or the lowrance pack for a mark 5x. I wish I could afford the lx-5 but its not in the budget. How does the 20 degree cone work in deeper water? Deepest I fish is around 50 feet.
