Search Warrants are put before a judge who reviews the application for the search warrant and the supporting information that justifies the need to search. The judge then either grants or denies permission for the search warrant to take place. The judge also reviews the reason for a no-knock search warrant and either grants the no-knock or not.
Search warrants are not only for people, they can be for homes, cars businesses etc. The fact that the victim was not identified in the search warrant doesn’t by itself mean that it was the wrong address (the investigation into this shooting will determine if this was the right address or not). At any rate, it is a tragedy when a life is lost for everyone involved.
It’s sad that there is so much speculation and misinformation put forward and shared by people that are not truly in the know that occurs before all the facts are released. This type of speculation and misinformation is detrimental to all. I pray for all those involved or impacted and for calm in our communities.
