It’s hard to decipher if this is serious or not. Likely to be bitten by a wild dog?
This might be some college experiment or something to see how others react

I’ve got a strikemaster 24V as do a few friends. I prob drill more holes than all of them but never once has this been an issue.
The 40V costs more, more over the 24V than an extra battery would. That battery is lighter and can be left until you need it. To me that’s a no brainer

A couple weeks ago, Amazon had the 3i on sale for $222. If you applied for a Amazon card which I don’t plan on using they gave you a $150 gift card. I bought an Eskimo 3i for a total of 87 bucks. Not sure if that price is still available

Guys don’t ever cut throats. Looks terrible and most guys get the windpipe leaving the thing gasping. Pretty rough. You’d need to aim to the jawline to get the artery but this is silly. Take your knife and stick it in the armpit. It’ll hit vitals and it’ll be over quick. Looks cleaner. I’ve even done this on bears but it’s sketchier, it needs to be a bad off beat and you’d have to approach from the back so I’d not advise it on them.

You can check eye dominance on young children, testing might need to be different than the typical adult tests because of their ability to understand what you’re asking. The make a triangle w the fingers and look through it at your nose may or may not work if your by yourself. You can’t show them and have them frame your nose.
Never mention anything to anyone about testing their eye dominance but another way ask him to keep both eyes open standing 10 feet back and point at your nose tip. His finger will be under dominant eye. That’s the method I use on kids.
Another easy way is get a cd or something tell him to look through hole at the doorknob across the room or something. The dominant eye should be the one he uses. You need to be sure both eyes stay open when you test. Check a few times using dif tests if possible and make sure both eyes are open

I hunt with longbows, sometimes recurves and occasionally what they call hybrids. (Almost a longbow). I can see this is older but did you have questions you didn’t figure?

I know this is an older post. Did you get him a bow yet? The genesis bow thing is great but eye dominance is more important than hand dominance.
Also kids see things different. I’ve taught many kids, and am certified NASP and USA archery. If you need help just ask. Easier to avoid probs than correct them but best to know what may happen to avoid it.

Your finger makes a nice release and you always have them with.

I’d challenge you to use your finger with some of today’s bow designs.

I have no issues. Something’s are great and simple about stykbows. You are correct though, modern compounds can be shot that way but it’s really bucking the system and would prob yield rough and uncomfortable results. The modern bows are made to be shot by release

Haven’t touched a release in years but when I did always carried an extra. Remember it’s gotta be the same. The neck sizes change and can effect dl. Carter will repair theirs no issues. Every single release has breakage issues even if uncommon.

Brother, you’ve got to consider some things. Idk how big your son or you are but for one if you ever give it to him his draw length must match the bow. Without that it’ll be impossible to achieve proper back tension. Before that you should be determining his dominant eye. It’s important. Shoot with your eye not your hand. Next and probably somewhat something important is bows change year to year. If it’s gonna be 8 years or something things change. He may want new technology, 8 years later the bow will be seriously outdated.
Regarding the draw length, I havent shot anything but a styk in a long time but some bows have adjustments. I know the Bowtech Reign was one, lots of cheaper bows too. They allow simple draw length adjustment so if the kid was bigger or smaller than you but could handle the weight comfortably it’d be a matter of simple adjustments and redoing peep, kisser, sights as long as his eye matches yours.

I’m about the opposite. I mostly wait til a neighboring state opens up which is later than us by couple weeks.
Sport hunting should be sporting. This particular state keeps it that way so I wait

I’m sitting here home bored with a relapse in Covid but I was searching something and you all came up. Anyhow, turkey is one of my favorite meats. Turkey Schitzel with a mushroom sauce is what my girl makes. I can’t get enough of that.
We use wild mushrooms if we’ve got em. Another way, maybe not as awesome but easy and you’ve got to be careful you don’t over cook, is cut super thin. This aids in quick cooking. Soak in red wine vinegrette or barbecue sauce and lightly grill.
With the legs my girl gets the meat off and makes pot pies, same for pheasant.
