I don’t know about newer vehicles ,they have so many safe guards to prevent further damage ,but it sounds like the overflow tank spit out some excess coolant. The reason could have been a sticky thermostat. The water and steam could a got
the starter wet and caused it not to turn over. Maybe some body with more knowledge could chime in.

Good for you Kelly I wouldn’t take their corporate crap any more either.I don’t like it when institutions change their way of doing business or policies, probably because somebody moved up the ladder and had a brainstorm(cute idea). I bank locally with good service so far, they have made some changes, but nothing the industry itself hasn’t done.I applaud you.

Pete, you could use some metal angle 1 1/2″ X 1 1/2″ bars and cut them long enough to bolt on your transom and raise your motor up the 5 inches.I have an alumacraft V-16 that I unbolted the wood transom and epoxied 2 pieces of 3/4″ plywood and cut in out 5″ taller, this worked out perfect. This 2nd method is stronger and looks better.Pete just make sure you keep the anti-cavitation plate about even with the bottom of the hull, sometimes you get better deals on motors with longer shafts.I’d never shy away from this setup,it’s been working great for me,until a friend made me a nice offer on the 40 yamaha now it’s back to the 30 mariner. I hope they replace Hank with a hottie like Faith Hill, I wonder if she fishes too.
Last year I was watching Faith on SNF when the wife asks, hey Honey what do you think about her shoes. I said Sweetie what shoes.
I can’t agree with what a lot of people say or do.I was told if you can’t say something nice about someone don’t say anything, which I have to remind myself of almost
every time I open my mouth.
    I still like Hanks music.

I fished on Prince of Wales Island back in the 80’s.The pinks and coho were running and we caught them on small silver and pink Pixie spoons 1″-1&1/2″ long or roe(salmon eggs),take some Borax to stiffen up the eggs so they stay on your hook better. We fished from the shore,I used light spinning outfits for the pinks and medium-light for the coho. The pinks were 2-4 lbs.and the coho ran 4-6 with a 8-9 pounder once in a while. There were Dolly Varden trout in some streams so take a ultra-light outfit or a 4 or 5 wt. fly rod also. You’ll have a fun time and take lots of pictures.

I would like a straight 7-10% tax for everyone workers , corporations ,companies ,small businesses , wealthy and poor. Then lets have no tax breaks or deductions ,depreciation ,no anything.I think that is just a start towards making people feel equal to each other.I’m happy where I’m at, the wealthy can be happy where they’re at, and were all equal with taxes. No subsidies for no one.
If I want to start a business I save the money or get the loan, buy a house,do the same I don’t bother anybody with a break or handout,it’s my choice,my decision,no defaulting or bankruptcy.I think I would be more careful with my wants and decisions.
Then there is state and federal programs that should be updated, that’s a whole different ballgame.

It looks very nice, might get one for myself if my current rifle ever retires. ive never shot deer more than 100 yrds away so the range would be a non-issue

Birdsnest,I also have a 2+2 motor(1996 Mariner 115).I found out 2+2 means the motor runs on 2 cylinders from idle to around 1600 rpm. If you have a little mechanical skill and would like to try your hand at it go to http://www.themarinedoctor.com .This site is pretty informative,I got mine running pretty good by replacing fuel hoses and primer bulb, they were probably the originals.Another one is http://www.iboats.com a good site too.
    Good luck,

I also had my injectors fail, service manager said the tip was blown clear off(water)one of them.Chevy replaced all 8,and extended the warranty to 200,000 miles.2001 Duramax happened at 90,000 in 2004,there were so many that summer I had to wait over 5 weeks for the injectors, man was I pissed back then.I have’nt had any trouble with this truck again.I buy my fuel where they sell a lot of fuel, change filter spring and fall, and do all my own service and maintanence work.Personaly I like all the pick-ups ,but wished they still made Suburbans with a diesel.
    good luck with your truck,

Bob those are some dandy fish, being the river has been a little high and muddy lately.I live in Sioux City also, and don’t fish it effectively yet,but am trying different ways and set-ups mostly down river a little (air base, power plants).I havn’t hooked anything but kitties and smallies so far above or below the wingies.Last time up river I got stuck trying for a wing dam that wasn’t fun, except my friend nailed a respectable walleye in Jackson chute.Good Luck to you.Stan

Mike thanks for the post, two years ago I bought a f40 and started using Stabil.I went to fill tank in spring and noticed some whitish crystals on the inside of the tank, umm,
could this be the same stuff your talking about? I just swished it around and dumped it in another container through a funnel with a fine screen and used the gas in lawn mower,it worked good enough for it.I think I’ll check my fuel filters more often now,but that does not stop crystals from forming in carbs or injector systems and fuel lines.I’m with you Mike I’ll use SeaFoam products now.I wonder if those crystals form with 2-stroke oils? Thanks mucho. Stan
