    Drove through Long Prairie this afternoon and it was 3.89 at noon and 9.19 3 hours later. OK fine, the sign was wrong on one side, it was actually 4.19 but it seems that it will get there at the rate it is increasing.

    It wont be long before the ice is off of Long Lake in Detroit Lakes. This is the most recent picture from Thursday and it is broken up more today. I expect it to be gone either tonight or by the end of the day tomorrow with the wind 20 mph with gusts to 36

    I have always been partial to Abu Garcia and have had good luck with them. I recently picked up a REVO STX paired with a Veritas rod and love it. Both light and strong. This combo would be in your price range with the reel at 200 and the rod at 100.

    Both are great rods. I currently have a Temple Fork 7′ extra heavy and love it. The fact that I got it buy one get one at a sportsman show makes it even better

    Well said but they also need healthy and solid goal tending. Then they will be a force to be reckoned with!!

    Thank you all for the responses. We put together a last minute trip and are going down Saturday through Wednesday. Hope one of these places still have some openings
