Price reduced to $625 – Get yourself a great bow in time to practice up before the season. September and bow opener is around the corner! Bow has one decent season of use and has always been transported and stored in a hard case.

Any interest out there? Lets negotiate a deal. I am ready to get this bow moved to someone who wants a great bow for the upcoming season. Only reason I am selling it is that I upgrade every time Bowtech releases a 31″ draw bow (its what I blow my money on jester ). Send me a PM or reply to this thread.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I had a few questions in mind that were answered by your replies. My last auger is blown up, scorched piston walls and blowing gas back out the intake. I was pretty hard on it, especially back in my earlier days – got too comfortable with its reliability. The last few years it has been cold blooded and I knew after what I put it through, and the number of holes I was still punching with it; I knew it was just a matter of time. Looking back I think its 10 or 11 years old, I’ve run the paint pretty much completely off the auger, at least a set of blades a year, some weekend trips of firing through a full auger tank of gas and more, was always on the run and should have given it better time to warm up on several days a winter, etc.

Im still on the fence about which auger to end up with, but I was worried about the 4 stroke needing to lay a certain direction given the fact I know some day that would likely be an issue. I no longer run and gun with multiple guys and only one auger, just me running now which helps take care of things. Never re-cut holes, nor will I. If the wheel house works out, it will be reopened with a spud bar for sure. Kind of leaning towards the 4-stroke just to relieve the hassle of mixing gas and the noise after cutting so many holes a day.

Any additional input on these augers is greatly appreciated, and thanks again for those of you who provided input already.

I often fish alone but am tall and like the extra room of a smaller two man. I have always looked for the lighter 2 mans with swivel seats and have ended up with a Frabill both times. I currently have a Trekker 2 DLX, specs show it a bit heavier than I remember but I have no problem loading it in the back of my truck. I have been happy with the Frabills… just an opinion for what its worth.

I just started a batch tonight using a recipe I found right here at IDO. I would be interested in your recipe as well if you are willing to share

Let us know the results. Came close to coming down for it for the first time, however, couldn’t get a solid answer from the fishing partner. Good Luck

Found my problem, as well as several others. Unreal. Some how a mouse made its way into my boat. Still haven’t figured out how without it having to scale vertical steel or fiberglass as some point. Any ways, it managed to make its way into some wire housing near the corner of my transom. Managed to chew through my ducer wire, wires to both live wells, navigation lights wire, bilge pump wire, part of my humminbird power cable, and twice through one of my speaker wires; all in one location.

    Thanks for the offered help.

Thanks for the quick responses. It is a transom mounted ducer. This is the only unit I have in the boat at this time so there are no other units or ducers connected that could be interfering. I am going to pull the wiring and check connections tonight.

The transducer is secured tightly. The angle has not changed from when it was working prior.

I have a fenwick elite tech bass series drop shot rod, medium back bone -extra fast tip (The bass series prior to the release of the smallmouth and walleye elite techs). The drop shot holder works great if you look up that piece tied into the rod. Other rods I have used for this application, I have used a small rubber band wrapped several times around the cork behind the reel seat. When using the rod I roll it down to the very end of the cork. When in storage I place the hook in the rod hook keeper, reel tension to the line, then slide rubber band up on cork. Flip all the pieces of rolled up rubber band over the drop weight and its line, then lightly roll rubber band back towards the cork end until the line tightens between the weight and hook but does not pull the hook off or loosen it too much. Works great.

Was on both Red (1/2 day) and LOTW (2 days) this past weekend. The woods was slow, very slow. A lot of tullibee, but weak on the sizable eyes and sauger. In 5 hours on Red my buddy and I caught and released closed to 20 eyes between 13 and 20 1/2; fishes 1:30 to 6:30. From my experience, the reports prior to our trip, and word while there; LOTW is super slow unless you can get to the reefs. Pria not the way I would wanna go out with a fishing bang! Sent ya a PM with more info

If you are not used to ID on Micros it is a challenge even with really good photos.

    flatlandfowler where are you from?

Agreed. Especially when u start comparing species of Cyprinidae using photos. There are many of these species that appear extremely similar (for example sand shiners and mimic shiners are essentially identical in exterior appearance with the exception of the number of anal fin rays). These ID issues are further compounded when comparing juvenile versus adult specimens. I spent two years identifying fish species from 21 rivers and streams for my thesis research, and even at the end there were times I had to stop and really analyze some specimens to ensure proper identification.

Not knowing where this is at, or what kind of water body it is, there are 3 legitimate possibilities. First, the emerald shiners mouth is positioned nearly at the apex of the snout, this individuals mouth is too far under slung to be an emerald. The dorsal and caudal fins are covered and the dorsal scales can not be seen here so many of the other ID keys are missing in the picture. Therefore, based on existing keys available in the picture it is possibly a spotfin shiner (will have a dark spot between 3rd and 4th dorsal fin rays, near the fin margin and on the tail side of dorsal fin). It’s possibly the spottail shiner which has no dorsal spot but a spot between the caudal fin and caudal peduncle (tail meat), or finally it is possibly a bluntnose minnow, which also has a spot at the caudal peduncle but typically has a more definitive dark lateral line that extends through the eye to the nose. If you can get a picture of the whole specimen with as many of the fins extended as possibly, you will have a much easier time ID them. Hope this helps

Hopefully be getting some pics and reports up when ever this heat decides to tame down. Late June and early July was pretty decent fishing. Not much for size (43″ largest) but 11 made it to the boat and just a few more than that number being moved. Heat has got me on the sketch about hucking baits, so nothing recent. In that time frame though, all fish but 2 were on doubles 10s, irregularities in weed edges, weed edges on secondary points, and weed edges with an inflow near by.

X2 Wies. I am also looking forward to seeing a bunch of reports and pics come in here this year. Hopefully August and Fall treat every one here well

    300 Curado or 400 Calcutta

X2. I have both the Calcutta 400 and Curado 300EJ, I would recommend them each for their own reasons. I use these just for skis and love them. I also have a Calcutta 200 on a heavy bass flipping rod and through the years (8) I would say it would make a great pike reel if fishing bass tackle and a little bit heavier. I wouldnt spend the money on this reel and go throw musky baits day after day with the expectation of it to last. Its a great bass and pike reel, not a musky reel. Just my honest opinion.

I was wondering the same thing. I was dead set on picking up a gliding rap, may be reconsidering.

Trapsht- for what its worth I have used the sub walk a lot for largmouth/pike and the bait its self has great action. For me it works best on a fast action spinning rod with lots of slack given for the bait to glide. I have done well on both species using it over weed edges on days that are topwater days but too windy to effectively use a top water baits. Hope this helps.

I was just in gander today and got all shades of caught up on the 30 percent off all ice tackle deal. Didn’t even look at anything open water. Is this a gander wide sale? Or just forest lake? Love the DTs, what a steal!

Thanks for all your help, it is greatlt appreciated. Would also like to give frabill customer service a big thumbs up, more then helpfull.

Not sure your connection to frabill, but if by chance you work there or know-what tools would a guy need to assemble a trekker dlx. Will be buying one enroute to a fishing trip tomorrow and would like to know what I need (read some where a drill?) Thanks again for your help.

Ha Ha Ironic, I was just talking to my buddy about how many guys will be going with their gals as Favre and Jen. Still funny.

Going this year with golf clubs and a shirt ladent in fat heads and 10w 30 as the Gulf Oil Spill. Thought adding a Cheney mask and a Halliburton T-Shirt was a bit beyond the crowd I will be with.

Love traveling and seeing what’s really out there. My outdoor adventures are obviously #1 priority on my list of things to do. But, I still have a serious passion to do a European tour, specifically northern and eastern Europe. These are a few cuts from my Australian experience. Spent 3 weeks back packing the north island of New Zealand, 3 weeks back packing the south western corner of Australia, 1 week on the Great Barrier Reef, and 5 months of college in Sydney. Sorry for no scenic pics, as I managed to drop my camera into the Sydney harbour Amongst those photos were all of New Zealand, the Great Barrier Reef, the Gold Coast, a monster Red Snapper, and 4 foot Mako Shark from the Bay of A Thousand Islands. Amongst places that I’ve been that I do not suggest, Alabama and Mississippi If you ever want to T-off your college football coach-tell him your going across the globe for 8 months Simply awesome is all I can say, worth every penny. If any one reading this wants info, experiences vs. tourist experiences or ect. , shoot me a pm I’d be glad to hook you up with outfitters and experience ideas.

use a heat gun get the sticker hot and she will come off easy then get some paint safe lacquer to get the sticky stuff off, i work at a dealership and thats what we do

X2, Brother owns a sign shop, best way to remove decals is heat gun on high to heat it up then flip to medium. Flat razor blade, plastic if your new at it, then use lacquer. One thick dapping of that on the adhesive, let it sit about a minute tops, paper towel with thumb pressure will whipe it right off. Dealer sticker, start to finish: New should take you about 4-5 mins, used 7-8, old used with lots of gravel use 8-10 (comes off in tiny pieces).

Its not good…. I take water quality samples at some of those places in your pictures on a weekly basis, and do my master research in the area rivers. Many rivers in the area are still above the 98th percentile for flow and gage height. Homes, Businesses, and Fields have been completely destroyed throughout south central MN.

It was 92′ that it was so high. Its known in the Ag community as Zero92, standing corn fields were disced under region wide. It was so wet that planters were still in the field at the 4th of July. I remember sitting the the tractor with my old man just chiseling under acre after acre of corn that was to immature to produce an ear.
