I know this is an old post, but thank you for the visual reference Jon! I am new to navigating the river as well, and I have clipped this dam twice now. Everything still works thankfully; was observing the no-wake zone so the damage was minimal. Was at the boat shop asking the guy where the spot to get through the closing dam was and he told me it was marked with a couple bottles, but I didn’t see any. At least now I know where to “feel” for an opening. I could not find a visual anywhere until I stumbled on this post.
