Huntindave – you are an amazing person! I just went out and tried your suggestion. (all the while thinking…I hope this works, but if this works, why has it taken me YEARS to finally find a solution…and it’s SO SIMPLE!) I had the plug in, so scraped up 2 knuckles after it let loose. Took my knife and scraped a couple of swipes. Tried the plug and already better. Couple of more times of trial and error and wa-la…FIXED. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your advice. thank you.

Agreed…definitely my only real complaint w/ the boat. Not sure it makes me happy to hear others have the same issue (and are losing skin too!), but glad I’m not the only one! As far as a rubber Plug, you are talking about the standard “t” or “lever” type right? (either one you tighten to compress the rubber length wise and it expands the width) I was thinking about giving that a try. THANKS for the advice! My hands will be greatful.
