Mendota Perch, this year has been slow but around this time they school up and limits are common.

Late update from last weekend. Went out to the main channel without any success. Again, drilled many holes, found stumps and no fish. Going to try west of Merrimac now…will keep you guys updated

Did you turn it to the on position If it’s leaking then a hose might be loose and you’re not getting gas to the carb.

Pam cooking oil works but you’ll have to spray it everytime you go out. Also heard of guys using wd-40 too.

Nice fish, I should try northeast of the trestle. I’m assuming the ice is fine in that area right now.

I personally use Frabill and Mountain Hardwear for fishing. For boots during ice I use Baffin, I think I have the Wolf model with -140f liners. I’ve been on -20f temps for over 8 hours with these boots and never gotten cold.

That sucks, I went to the Richfield location today to save myself 20 mins of driving time. To my surprise traffic was bad. Biggest mistake ever!

I love my Lowrance Elite 5, once you dial it in you’ll love it. I don’t use the ice fishing mode. I just leave it on open water mode and use the split flasher. Battery life is great and the GPS always comes in handy. Only con I’ve found is when you’re over 100 feet of water you’ll have to adjust the depth range or else it’s hard to see a small jig.

Check your idle screw and also it could be spinning if the temperature outside is warm, shouldbt be spinning that much though…

6-8 inches of ice in central wisconsin. 10-14 up north from what I’ve heard. Good luck and stay safe!

I would adjust the idle screw. I had the same problem when I fired up the auger new out of the box. Half a turn did the trick for me. Also by the end of the season I had to readjust it again, seems like the vibration moves the screw around.

I love fishing the backwaters of the Wisconsin river in Spring Green and Lone Rock area. Watching that video got me pumped up! Now I feel like calling in sick tomorrow and head out fishing! whistling

I agree with Brett but if you want a great camera go with a GoPro Hero 4, with the Bluetooth. You can do so much more too, make videos on the ice, underwater, better quality. Only thing is that you’ll have to rig up some sort of rope to put down the hole…Look up YouTube videos and you’ll be amazed at the quality.

Nice video, have a question. Has anyone tried adapting a 6 inch bit into a gas powerhead? I’m thinking of making an adapter and trying it but noticed that my 6 inch bit does not have a point on it. Would that affect anything?
