How about tiger muskies through the ice with a mix of splake or early season tigers in the boat on a lake to yourself?

Placed 4th in New York muskies inc chapter 69 Otisco lake tiger tournament on 5/16/15. This was my biggest fish of the day, and three of us were within an inch of the big fish pool. This fish was 36.5″ and was suspended out over 52′ of water chasing a big school of bait around. This is my first legal muskie of the year. Now if work would get out of the way, so I could get some more.

Water temps around me are already in the 70’s. I’m already seeing the larger fish mixed in with the walleye around the 15-22′ mark in the trenches.

HJ14 & HJ18’s gold/black, fire tiger, clown, anything bright and flashy. SLOWWWW until the water gets up toward 60 degrees. At times I pause for 15-20 seconds. In water that shallow you should be able to sight fish them.

As far as I know HJ14, 5/8 oz., 5 1/2″ is the largest size Husky Jerk made by Rapala. What is a HJ18?

My bad. I meant Rapalas original F-18s.

It has nothing to do with poor design. Like previously stated, the Allen head bolt vibrates loose. Use the Allen wrench provided to tighten it up, and I assure you it will not wobble. Again, a little loctite will take care of your problem.

Thank you! Fighting it in 5′ of water was a little different than I’m used to.

I have already had one layer of skin peel off. This weeks episode of IDO, I see James and Paul had the same thing going on fishing Erie. I was hurting!

I have one as well and had a similar situation. I think I just drilled into dirty ice. You can’t see it, but you sure can tell when it happens.

Superior with my uncle from WI who was out there 20 miles on the ice last year after those tank lakers. That is a whole different beast than what I’m used to. Also, late ice pike on LOTW.

Strikemaster did not help me with an oil seal problem that went out two times on a strike Lite auger so I’m not surprised. Same deal,…no one at corporate would make a decision. 4 strokes are probably not a good winter application. My friends electric was recalled due to a switch problem. Fleet Farm gave him all of his money back which is a responsible company decision. In th end,..It seems like you can’t beat a 2 stroke.

A 4 stroke is a far more reliable motor in any circumstance. I’m certain that on one of these Hondas, a failure is due to poor preventative maintenance. The term ” blown up ” is used in so many different scenarios, that its impossible for one to have a clue as to what the failure actually was. I’m sure that’s what’s taking so long, as they are most likely trying to determine the exact cause of the failure.

Hi Central NY, my part of town, get it in Conesus? I got a 38+”, 17 pounder there this summer. Nice Tiger, they fight hard.

Thanks and yes they do fight hard! I fish the Fulton Chain. I love it there. Fish for tigers, pike, and lakers all in the same spot!

That is a beauty! Looks like she took a nice run; I thought all that line was blood at first!

Thank you. I use high vis orange fly line backing for main line.
She did make 3 very good initial runs before I got any line back. It was like a brick wall when I set the hook.
