I can tell you that a Agent has no control over premiums or their commission rates at all. Sure wish they did. A agent doesn’t like it when rates go up any more than you do. As far as commissions goes, most agents commissions have gone down in the last 5 or so years.

FT I believe you and I appreciate you commenting since you are in the field and was hoping you would reply.
How do you explain the specific example I got with Progressive where my son went to the website and I went through my agent and quoted me something significantly higher for exact same coverage? The ONLY difference is one was through an agent.

I can tell you that Progressive Direct (website or phone call to Progressive) charges less to the customer than going through an independent agent. Why do you think that is? No commission paid out to an independent agent. I can also tell you that your likelihood of having poor coverage and claims service is much greater going through Porgressive Direct than through and independent agent.

The shop floor at our new place sweats. Not sure if the floor doesn’t have a vapor barrier or if it’s from the micro climate we live in, or both. It’s very common to have dense fog all day in the summer with NE winds from the lake.

The humidity in the shop got so bad that some fabrics on certain gear started to grow mold (the seats on my Otter shacks, various backpacks, clothing, etc). Some did textiles were fine, while others weren’t.

Fans and opening windows on nice days helped some, but overall the humidity was still too high (70%+)

A few weeks ago I plugged in a portable dehumidifier in the middle of the shop and have it ran into the floor drain. It completely cured my problem. It cycles on and off as needed and keeps the shop at a consistent 55% waytogo

No more damp floors or mold.

Nice. Might have to do the same. Wish I had a floor drain.

Garage ceiling fans are extremely underrated. You can find decent cheap ones at Menards and they make a huge difference both with humidity/condensation and then in the winter circulating heat down to the floor. I can’t remember the last time ours were turned off.

I was definitely thinking about that. Thanks for confirming.

From radco I got the radco branded topper which is actually made by leer but much cheaper. Not sure why. I have the side windoors with sliding windows and screens. Interior light and the carpeted ceiling. No complaints it’s a great topper. Basically what you are looking at but radco branded instead of leer. The front sliding window does rattle though which is annoying but should be easy fix.

How recently did you get it? Mind sharing what your bill was?

Some companies are definitely more friendly to youthful drivers than others. 3.0 GPA definitely helps. Having 3 vehicles and 3 drivers, I’m not terribly surprised by that rate jump. But it still may be to your benefit to check with other companies.

Keep a high limit of liability. Your Uninsured/Under Insured coverage will mirror that. I’ll tell you that should the time ever happen when you need it, you won’t regret having paid for it. And let’s home none of us here ever do need those higher limits.

AAA Insurance can be friendly to youthful, as can Safeco, Travelers, and Progressive. The first three have really tightened up Underwriting and are requiring all policies to package home and auto together. But it can be worth checking.

Jared is a really good dude. He helped us find some crappies a while back even though we weren’t staying with him. Had us out to his house. Can’t find better people than the folks up in Morson.

Nice. We’re heading there Sunday if it’s not raining. Shouldn’t have to worry much about dust, I’m assuming.

I’ve ordered a solenoid and will replace that this week once it arrives. Thanks, fellas.

So is the solenoid separate from the starter? I’m on my second starter doing the same thing.

With the move from Phoenix to Salt Lake City, is the hockey team there still going to be the Coyotes or are they going to come up with a completely new name?

Salt Lake City Coyotes? Utah Coyotes? Or something else?

I have a 21 AT4 with the Babymax. Love it. Just went over 100,000 miles. Not sure on this belt change. My dealership said nothing about that for the 100,000 mile service. I get 22-23 mpg around town. About the same driving 85 to Montana. If I keep it under 75, I can get 26 mpg. Towing 4 atvs across North Dakota and Montana at 85, I get 10-12 mpg. 14 mpg towing my 18′ Larson to LOTW.

I had a 21 Trail Boss with the 6.2 for about 4 months. 13 mpg around town. 15 mpg at 85. 8-9 mpg towing 4 atvs at 85. 10 mpg towing my 18′ Larson to LOTW. I put 4000 miles on it, and the lifters went out. My previous 5.3 had the lifters go at 50,000 miles as well. I don’t trust the GM gassers anymore.

I spoke with my buddy this week who is service manager at a large local metro Chevrolet dealership asking him if he’d steer me to a Babymax or 6.2. He said he plans on his next vehicle being a Babymax. Less problems than the 6.2.

    There’s my 2 cents

Polaris Ride Command and OnX Offroad are the best I’ve found in the MN/WI area for roads and trails. And being on your phone is a plus as well. I ride with mine on my ATV handlebars. Works great.

    KOOS Koos?

The only good thing about a push for the playoffs is more playoff experience for our young players. They talk about how important prior playoff experience is for success in the playoffs. Even losing experience is better than no experience.

My deer stand I built last fall…. I “painted” it myself. Them days may soon be gone… hopefully before I have to re-stain the cabin this summer… crazy

This got me thinking…I wonder if the authors of the bill have a big honey-do list that includes staining their homes, and if it’s illegal for them to buy and apply the stain to their home, they’re off the hook and can hire it out.

So are they going to pull electrical items off the shelf and make them only available to licensed contractors? Take auto parts out of NAPA and only allow licensed mechanics to work on cars?

I don’t want to go under the radar and screw up my border crossings. We go up 4 – 6 times per year. Last thing I need is a cavity search.

I do have a pull cord. So I’m not dead in the water…

I do run my Lowrance on it. So I like to check the map and strategies new spots when the sled isn’t running. So overall I’m in good shape. Very first world problems.

I’ll try it on the trickle charger tonight.

Would you be interested in a Lodge XTPro XOver to trade since you’re looking for bigger? I want to downsize. Has hyfax, 2 seats, travel cover, Otter lights, battery tray, clam rod holders mounted in the tub, one Otter rod holder, and cargo net. I have a brand new replacement canvas for it in the box with it that Otter sent me on warranty. I have modded the tub with hooks to bungie the travel cover and keep snow out. I also have hooks in the tub to mount a buddy heater and propane tank. If interested send me a PM.

I use tow haul in my sierra with a 6.2 10 speed and it tows my 19 foot boat I’m in 10th gear and 74mph at 1800 rpm. I actually even used cruise and it never shifted. Got 16mpg too.

I call BS on this statement. I couldn’t get 16 mpg with my 6.2 hauling nothing at all at 75 mph.

Don’t have Onx yet, but will be following this. I can see how it would be extremely helpful. My problem is I want both the Hunting and Offroad versions! $$$

Hunt is great but Offroad was a pretty worthless addition when I tried it last year. I’m sure it depends on the area but I would try the demo first on that one.

I disagree with this assessment. I use OnX Offroad almost every trip on my ATV. We ride MN, Montana, and South Dakota. I’ve found OnX Offroad to have way more trails than Polaris Ride Command. There are times that I have to resort to Avenza, but it’s not a user friendly map. You have to download maps, and they don’t seam together, so if you ride off of a map, you have to switch maps. OnX Offroad is the best I’ve found for the areas I ride, hands down.

Why put Merril and Mermis as a pair?

Somebody has to cover for how terrible Merrill is. And they don’t want to double shift Brodin, Faber, or Middleton. They can’t put him and Addison together again, they might as well pull the goalie with that pairing.
