Heck I know what you mean. I have a few little hooks that my 2 and 4 year olds use to catch about anything. As long as they ae having fun and enjoying time on the water I don’t really care. So far this year my 2 year old will sit still for about 30 minutes now and my 4 year old will go 3 hours steady. They are quite the pan fishers. My 4 year old is finally going to try going to the river with me for bigger cats as soon as the water goes down and it’s safe.

Aaron is a great dude! I don’t quite get his obsession with micros, but he’s a great stick and a good friend.

Truth there. I’ve been out with Aaron when I lived in the metro. He’s a fantastic guy with a wealth of knowledge. I’m pretty sure he still got his biggest sturgeon when we were out together the first time during a contest.

You’ll have to let us know how they work out. I myself will be getting rid of my Tekota 600 and Tiger rod. I want a new Trio and a tiger rod to go with it.

These are the two I found.

I highly recommend Defensive Edge. Greg Sullivan and his crew do a fantastic job. Sully has trained damn near ever police and sheriffs dept in the upper Midwest. And a lot of the tactical teams. He also has a great line of AR-15’s. The SLR-15. All of the courses are great. Handgun 1 and 2 are fantastic and great training for beginner or advanced shooters. The carbine and shoot gun classes are fun too. He even does so shooting from vehicles and such in certain courses. Definitely worth the money. FYI if you want to learn to work on AR’s Sully’s armorer course will teach you everything you need to know. His classes are worth every penny.

I still use the plywood and blue tarp shack when I’m out. It has ski’s on the bottom to pull easier though. Most times I’m hole hopping though being I have an ice suit. But yeah don’t see a whole lot of home made ones anymore.

I keep my screen heater on all the time when I’m on the ice. If I’m fishing myself I don’t use the noise rejection. With smaller jigs my sensitivity is usually set at 3 or 4. IF its not sunny out hole hoping I leave my backlight on so to differentiate the different shades of contrast better also. It’s been working great for me the two or three years I’ve had mine now.

What I’ve seen they don’t throw many when I’ve been out with my friends. The little we get we kick in the hole and reverse the drill and run them back under the ice. An electric drill should work great.

If you stop by Batteries Plus they will check the battery and run it under load to see if its dead free of charge.

I switch from the Muck Arctic Sports to the Arctic Pro. They a warmed which I needed. That being said I was good in the Sports as long as it wasn’t below zero. I have no shack and sit on a buck by the way. I also recommend Smartwool type sock with the liner also. I do this and Muck suggests it also. I have a size twelve foot and were a twelve boot also with the heavy socks. They run a bit big for this purpose. Great customer service if something goes wrong too.

Thanks for the replies. Ordered an Eagle Claw. It’s just for light duty shallow panfishing and going on a ritzy HT Ice Blue rod. cool

I’m running the same set up. It works great for me. I’ve had it 2 yrs now.

Great fish! Just an FYI.. Don’t hold them by the gills. It damages them. They go down the hole alive. Then die later due to the gills tearing.

IS the push button ignition sparking. I know in our pop up for the summer I replaced ours with an electric spark ignitor like on some grills so when you hold it down it keeps sparking.

I don’t know how many use them. But I’ve been using Mummy Worms – Mummified Waxies. They come in multiply colors and work great all summer and Winter. Our local bait shop has them and you can order them on line too if you like. They’re great when you have little kids to take fishing because the seem to stay on longer.

I don’t use this place. But this is what they are
