Ken, my heart goes out to you and your family and are so sorry for your loss. I pasted the words to a song by the gospel group Mercy Me. This song really hit home for me after losing my Dad. Nothing any of us can say can take away your pain but if there is something we can do, please please please don’t be afraid to ask. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

You’re in a better place, I’ve heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I’ve rejoiced for you
But the reason why I’m broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
I’ve never been more homesick than now

Help me Lord cause I don’t understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I’ll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I’m still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
I’ve never been more homesick than now

In Christ, there are no goodbye
And in Christ, there is no end
So I’ll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
    To see you again
    To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow

I’ve never been more homesick than now

Despite the weather, I think everyone had a good time. Thanks Dave for putting it together. I’m glad everyone enjoyed the sweets and helped eat them so we didn’t have to have any left at home! Sounds like some good fish were caught throughout the day.

Here’s an idea for the next GTG – what about changing the time to later in the day? The last two years it seems like the fishing was better later in the day. We could get together about 3 or 4, grill between 5 & 6, and fish the entire time until the park closes! I realize it will get dark at some point but maybe there will be more action. Just a thought……

Regardless of the weather, it was better to fish some than none at all!

Welcome to the site Fishing Vet! Here is a link that can get you going in the right direction to starting a business in the state of Minnesota. It’s not specific to the type of business you want to run but gives you general information and it has a ton of links to just about everything you want to know.

This site should be a good addition to the links the other guys have already provided for you. Hope it helps!

    Bravo Dartman!

In my opinion, I think this nation needs to go back to more “under God” instead of less. We might be better off.

The only ice I’ve seen all winter has been on my driveway and my deck! However, I did take advantage of the sun and got the driveway cleaned down to the concrete and our deck is clean as well. It was a good day yesterday!

Now if I could fish in the open water at the end of our driveway, life would be good!

Great job Honey! Nobody is happier for you than I am. It will be nice to have my husband back! Most people don’t realize it but there have been so many things we couldn’t do because of you being off weighted. Even something as simple as dinner and a movie would have been a major production.

You’ve done a great job of sitting on your can and letting your foot heal. (Any of you who may know Frank know what a chore that was for him just to sit around.) You’ve adapted well and taken care of things at home as much as you could while I worked. I appreciate every little thing you do no matter how insignificant it seems for you.

How about you take your wife to dinner and a movie sometime soon? I happen to know first hand that she would love to go!!

As you can see, my screenname is “fishermanswife” and rod-man is the “fisherman” that I belong to and I have to tell you that the posts you guys have left so far are awesome. There have been a lot of good ideas and so much positive encouragement.

We have a strong faith and trust that God will provide as He always has in the past. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that when things are so overwhelming. We have a great marriage and so many things to be thankful for that I know we’ll endure and make it past this. In the meantime, we’ll look into some of the suggestions you guys have posted and keep the words of encouragement close.

You know what works great? Alcohol wipes. If you don’t have any of those, just cotton with a little rubbing alcohol works great too. Don’t use something like Windex or it will take the letters right off the keys! If you type like my husband, you’d be in trouble then!
