The Illinois River is still HIGH and Muddy with surface temps 37. The best fishing for Sauger has been from Hennepin to Straved Rock – jigging minnows in holes of 15 – 20 foot water.

Illinois River guide John Phillips says the Sauger bite was SLOW over weekend with cold temps, but will get active in few weeks, and Good numbers of fish near Spring Valley

Back in the spring i watched a mighty fine catch in the shallow edges of the illinois river it moved with such grace in the water.This kept me so intenceified for days.So i decided to go and see this great catch everyday to see just how i could hook such a mighty fine catch, so that i did on a rainy day on october 12th of 2001 i finally hook this great catch after many days and months of studing and enjoying the company of this catch. This catch of course is my wife the best fishing buddy i have had for years. Baits her own hooks sets and catches her own fish. Man fishing wont ever be the same thanks Lori (she reads this page everyday)
