Some people go a lifetime of never finding their twin, others regret it.-unk
December 13, 2011 at 5:26 pm #1017335To work on the Frabill’s was easy. Take the rubber nipple off, a pair of pliers to hold the jam nut and loosen the T-bar, then the jam nut, the plastic spacer and the spool/shaft comes right out. I found it easy to take one of the red spool/shaft guides off and take the grease tube and fill from there. I kept squeezing fresh grease until the old grease, water, and possible rust came out. At this time look at your spool/shaft for rust and clean w/ fine sandpaper. Reinstall the spool/shaft. You can add Quantum Hot Sauce at this time. Put the spool/shaft guide back on. Then the red spacer. Here is the tension part. When you put the jam nut on, allow for just a hair seperation. Add the T-bar. Add the rubber nipple and done. Should take about 6 min if everything doesn’t go well. 608-792-0711 anytime.
December 7, 2011 at 2:35 am #1015275I bought the new coated braided line from Berkley. I like it a lot, so far. Ice is just a couple days out, and I will know more.
December 7, 2011 at 2:30 am #1015273I bought the Beaver Dam grease tubes. They are a oil base and the Frabill tubes are grease based. Either would work great w/ Hot Sauce. Just make sure they are filled w/o any big movement in the shaft.
December 7, 2011 at 2:25 am #1015268I know exactly what you are saying. I like the BD’s, but no way can I justify that money on a tip up. They used to be 25-30 bucks. Now it they are 35-50 depending on model. I bought a ton of the wood Frabill’s for 8.99 each from Gander website. I relubed them w/ the full synthetic grease from BD and reset the tension on them. I like them enough to buy and recommend them, if properly tuned up.
January 19, 2011 at 1:11 am #927664Our group usually heads to LOW on the Canadian side. With all the Canadian Shows and boat shows, now is the time for the both of you to look at some of them and see what each really wants in theis trip.
*Remember you are stuck with each other for a week*September 2, 2010 at 6:47 am #897078Not that I would advocate to drinking to excess , but If a guy needed to sleep in the bottom of the boat, he/she could record a trail and the other two people could continue to fish. I have saved weight and space of not using an anchor anymore.
June 15, 2010 at 4:56 pm #880170We were on LOTW for some favorite spots. They weren’t on the usual spots, but we found them suspending over 30-35ft of water. They all were eating 3-4″ Okeechobee colored crawfish off the bottom. I would brush up on some carolina rigging. Fewer numbers, but bigger fish.
May 20, 2010 at 3:09 am #873272Your best bet is to find a Merc dealer close-by that does the try-it prop from the Mercury website. Check to see if you have the Bigfoot motor for starters. From the way it sounds you may need a 9p or 10p prop. The dealer would be able to look at your set-up and start to get you in the right direction
August 31, 2007 at 4:29 pm #604838you should be able to get or make some sort of guide posts. i had the same problem with my combo. i found using some flat stock and pvc piping to be very effective.
August 22, 2007 at 12:16 am #602200before buying that store find out the status of the campground/park. onalaska was looking at buying that area and turning it into a public landing etc. dave kept the bait part of it, because there was more money made in it because he was wholesaling.
August 20, 2007 at 6:56 pm #601630if you run your cursor or crosshairs over and stop on it it will tell you it is a point of interest or a harbor.
August 7, 2007 at 3:42 am #597627usually gander can get the product from another store in a couple of days.
July 30, 2007 at 3:30 pm #595309i have the 2006 used it on whitefish with crazy accuracy. i would expect the same for sabaskong. we were across the road and used mine on big pine and was pretty decent. if you can get the 2007 chip. it has better detail and more info. i know at the gander mtn here in lacrosse you can see the chip before you buy. i would think most stores would let you do that.?!
July 27, 2007 at 2:15 am #594470have to agree. more money, sometimes they fall apart, but not much for slack line.
July 23, 2007 at 7:16 pm #593071i think that it is because they are harder to get from some wholesalers. steve at gander should be able to help you. i know sometimes he pulls a rabbit ou of his hat and gets some.
July 16, 2007 at 9:00 pm #590849i think you stay at helliar’s just because green’s is a stones throw away.
July 16, 2007 at 8:50 pm #32941that howling is most likely watson getting the phone that he has to work the next day!

July 16, 2007 at 12:22 am #590493i agree with all the above the only thing different would be that i would get a gold and black to fish the high iron content waters to go along with the blue and chrome.
July 16, 2007 at 12:19 am #590492it’s a good idea, however, for the money i can buy more bags. most of the time when i am done fishing the plastic is chewed up anyway.
July 11, 2007 at 7:59 pm #5891938’6″ is a lot easier to store and use. the nine will get the bait out a little further, but worth the extra hassel.
July 11, 2007 at 7:52 pm #589190i too have a 16’lund. i am going bigger on my next boat. like the rest of the reports 3 is good 4 gets a little thin. any time you get smaller kids in a boat consider it 1 1/2 people. consider too where you will store it. either find the biggest motor you can put on it or buy the biggest motor. 17′ gets decent room for all and 18′ is better yet. unless your ron seeloff a 20 tiller gets pretty big
