The one that really made me laugh was a tattoo on a contractor at work…he had a dotted line around his neck with the words ” cut on dotted line” below it…… thought somebody should take him up on it !

I saw a gal a while back on the beach that had more hardware than was in my tacklebox ! Two rows of about 12-16 rings up each side and two rows up each side of her back and each set of rings were all laced up with a ribbon tied at the bottom with a bow. I didn’t get a good look at her face and ears, but I bet they were full too ! Seems to me the more “advanced” our society gets the more we revert back to savages !
August 3, 2011 at 6:28 pm #986008I have a replacement knee and no ACL. Just have to be a little careful picking your “fun” things to do, watch your step a little more. I do lots of stairs at work and work out in the rail yard, I keep up just fine to those with no problems.
July 31, 2011 at 4:38 pm #985324Should have got another Chevy then your trailer lights would still be working ! Sorry, I’m partial to Chevys.
July 28, 2011 at 10:17 pm #984690Forget about all those exotic fish and setup a tank using “local” fish. I had a tank for many years with crappies, bluegills, bullheads, gar, dogfish, bass and even pike. Just dump em some minnows and they feed themselves. Suprising what you can learn from watching fish “eat” ! And with a tank bigger is better, I would start with either rain water or pond water, the bugs are already in there that you need to get going.
July 26, 2011 at 12:14 am #983775I run a Alumacraft 175 CS with a 90hp 4 stroke, a little slow getting on plane when we pull ski’s but it gets the job done a 115hp on it would probably be ideal.
July 26, 2011 at 12:09 am #983773I keep getting calls from a place that calls itself “CREDIT CARD SERVICES” it’s out of Florida asking if you want to lower your interest rate on your cars…and is a scam ! I told them not to call and they keep calling , yes I have my # on the do not call list, but they keep calling ! Even tried to call their number back and it says not a valid number. Last time they called, I told them I was on a cell phone and didn’t have my info, but to call my “wife” I’m single never been married…and gave them “her” number to call, which was actually our county sheriffs office number…funny thing they haven’t called back in a while !
July 6, 2011 at 7:35 pm #9787032nd that on not unhooking the winch strap till the boat is in the water. Saw a guy with his 1st new boat,a brand new Lund…backing down a long 4 lane ramp at Mark Twain, he was fine until he tapped the brakes half way to the water, about 75 feet, and the boat slid off onto the ramp and scuffed it all up. Somebody nearby had some plywood in his truck and we got the boat on the plywood and slid it the rest of the way down the ramp. Felt sorry for the guy.
July 6, 2011 at 10:05 am #978546I heard you should never let them eat wedding cake, something they put in it puts an end to things and changes how they think.
May 26, 2011 at 12:32 am #969136Check the iowa lakes general forum, I was just down there a couplle weeks back ad wrote up a little report.
May 23, 2011 at 11:12 pm #968403Check with “jimbo” here on IDO, he’s up in the DeSoto area. Just send him a IM here.
May 21, 2011 at 11:37 pm #967919For my 2 cents worth, I would add a timer to the livewell pump. Fill the livewell on manual then switch over to the timer…I have seen too many people that think they can just fill it and add fish…they call it a live well, but it ends up more like a science experiment gone wrong. Add the timer to keep fresh water flushing out the old water on a regular basis, you will bring home fish in a lot better shape. I also added a bubbler for those times when you need a little extra.
May 5, 2011 at 3:36 am #963507And here I thought it was illegal to dump trash and refuse in the water…guess not for the government.
May 3, 2011 at 11:11 pm #963080Not at all what I expected….was thinking of….well…a small article of clothing (not for guys)for fly fishing with a patch of lambs wool to keep your flies in. My bad !!!
May 3, 2011 at 10:52 pm #963074I used to work at a grain/feed/equipment dealer and we sold a lot of DMI bumpers, they bolt right on and have springs on the drawbar to take care of the bumps. We had one that outlasted three trucks and we did a lot of heavy towing ! Not sure what one would cost anymore, but just a suggestion.
May 1, 2011 at 2:43 pm #962262And here I always thought those ” old guys ” just needed their glasses prescription adjusted when they walk up next to where you have been fishing and set up camp, then cast their lines over mine. Now I understand….it was really just a ploy to get me to move from “their” spot !
April 30, 2011 at 4:42 pm #962104Very east central Iowa, just north of Clinton. I went out for about 4 hours on Wednesday, found 14 by one tree and that was it. Went to another timber on Thursday, walked for 5 hours and found 16 again by one tree. Both places were southwest facing and not much cover, actually direct sun. Ground still feels cold, need some warm days, lots of sun and no cool breeze and things look ready to go.
April 21, 2011 at 8:55 pm #959518Hope he’s not one of those guys that actually counts and names each minnow or worm he sells you !
April 21, 2011 at 5:37 pm #959415I would think if you killed it then put it up on the bank the eagles would surely take care of it, lots of young eagles that need fed !
April 21, 2011 at 11:25 am #959259A few are popping up here in eastern Iowa, got the moisture, just need some warm weather. Had frost on the windshield this morning…Grrrrr !
April 20, 2011 at 4:15 pm #927031I would worry that a lightning strike would take out my electronics in the boat. Got caught 10 miles from camp up in Canada once…once…now we watch it pretty close. When it goes from glass to the perfect storm kind of waves in a few minuites, you kind of take notice. Standing in pea sized hail in flipflops with the deck drains looking like small whirlpools and the bulge pump running hard is not fun !
April 20, 2011 at 9:48 am #958833If you live out in the rural areas, you just take it as one of those things. Ya…sometimes the rear “soup gate” doesn’t seal up all that well on the ” ol turd hearse ” as we called it. But then why would you want to follow so close ? Best advise is just slow down or try and straddle the mess, or take a different way.
April 18, 2011 at 6:40 pm #958404GO PRO HERO, shoots in 1080p, I use one on my motorcycle (helmet mount ) and get AWSOME video ! Ya you have to watch not to snap your head around, but they have many different mounts…just watch Swamp Men or Ax Men on History Channel, they are using the Go Pro’s.
April 18, 2011 at 6:18 pm #958401Back when I was a little guy, just after the Dutch Elm Disease went thru, there were 2 big elms in our houseyard that threw a ton of mushrooms out…but my mom ( who gets sick when she eats them) MOWED them down cause they were no good to eat…there were tons of them !!!
April 18, 2011 at 1:22 pm #958279Well, I guess I’d say I’m just a guy who likes being in the outdoors with family and friends.Be it cutting wood, mushroom hunting or fishing. It’s not about how many fish you catch or who gets the biggest one…I will never fish for money or fame. It’s all about spending time away from your work or your normal surroundings, relaxing and enjoying nature at it’s best, and possibly catching a glimpse of a creature most people will never take the time to look or listen for.
April 6, 2011 at 12:57 am #954391Alcoa in Davenport , Ia has an Eagle cam too ! Had 2 chicks but one didn’t make it. I just can’t beleive the amount of food they are stocking up ! First there was a large pike, then a duck…now just in the past day there are about 6 ducks total in the “pantry”
April 6, 2011 at 12:40 am #954381The geese and ducks fly in a vee so as not to poo in each others faces when in flight….honest truth…don’t beleive the whole aerodynamic drag theory.
April 1, 2011 at 8:39 pm #953188My buddy his dad and I were bobber fishing for trout in a pond one time, my buddy went to the truck and while he wasnt looking I grabbed his pole and pulled his bobber under some algae…then cast my identical bobber where his sat. He returned…unknowing…I was holding my pole to the far side away from him and would twitch the line with my finger, “his” bobber would move and just when he would pick up his pole, I’d quit just till he’d lay it back down….this went on for a couple minuites until his dad and I couldn’t hold back the laughter any longer !!!
March 16, 2011 at 1:56 pm #947666My Pinpoint has been doing it for 15 years and can follow the contours or shoreline…can’t figure out why nobody has picked up on the technology and put it into a newer trolling motor…then I’d buy a new one !
