hey i was going to tell everyone you fell inandafter you tangled our lines and come up with a catfish. Ha ha.

Maybe I will see you out tomorrow if not good luck, me and my uncle are going to fish a different area for a while and if nothing happens you might see us around. Just remember when you are drifting i just use the trolling motor to keep the line vertical. Good luck.

What a good night we had last night. You learned an important method last night. I am just glad you caught a fish last night. Maybe next time the luck would go the other way. You kno, I never seen a man quit so excited as you when your walleye was in the boat, i think you were so happy we could have left right then. you forgot to tell how we ended the night. Hope you had fun and this site is a good way to get connected with other anglers.

Went out tonight from 6 till 8:30 , man what a great time my wife and i had. The first pass of jigging she caught a 17 in walleye, then me a 14 inch walleye, that made her night after i had to convince her to go with. Then the next pass she caught a small one and then i caught a bluegill. Next time nothing. then she caught about a 16 inch sauger, and that was it for a while. Then we move to a different location. I was so happy for her since that was her first time jigging, but i couldn’t let her know that. I was also thinking i better ge in gear or i will never hear theend of this. So on to the next spot, first came a miss and then came a 22.5 incher, what a fight . Then on the next pass i caught a small one. Then i made her nervous, out of the same little area I hooked a 25.5 lunker, man did it have some shoulders on it. its hard putting them back but it’ll be great in the future. That’ll make your heart beat faster. So she was conviced to catch one of them. So on the next pass she got another 17.5 incher. So i still get to live another day hearing who caught the most keepers. not that i caught the biggest one. Well its great knowing that she enjoyed our outing tonight and she already says lets do it again sometime.

Fished from 6 to 10:00 this morning and we boated oe 24, one 19 , 18 , 16.5, and a cople smaller ones. my favorite walleye fishing is with 1/8 ounce jig heads tipped with a tube jig and a stinger hook, tipped with a leech or a crawler, drifted over flats or clam beds. That 24 incher gave up a nice fight. We tried casting crankbait on wingdams this morning and nothing. we trolled crankbaits and nothing. Jigging with the lightest jig head you can control is my favorite by far. its a thrill when you get into them because I use light spinning tackle with 6 or 8 pound line and a 6.5 ft Avid St.Croix light or med-light action , so you get to actually fight the fish. I might go out again tonight for a little while to see if i can pick up a couple more. I wen to get bait afterwords and saw one flat by fulton with 10 boats on it. Heyif you have any more questions on the area, let me know. I launch out of albany also and travel to the dam and south to the power plant. Sometime maybe i might have an open seat if you wanna give it a try. I am not a pro on wingdams but i love fishing the flats. I learned it all by my self from watching other people on the river and the local bait shop. Wingdams i usually anchor above and throw out a night crawler or a leech on a three way. thats how i have the best luck. So today was alot better than yesterday. Talk later.

That would be very helpful to me if you could see if kurt has a spot open on sunday or monday or another quality guide. So I can vertical jig and troll, Is that correct. Maybe we should meet up and you can give me some pointers on areas to hit and wouldn’t mind trying flambou flowage or something like that.

Made it out today 7th for a few hours and came home with 5 walleye from 16 to 17 inches. All came of wingdams in the albany Clinton area. 3 caught on night crawlers and 2 on crankbaits, but you think i could find that 6 th one. I prefer leeches but r&r wont have them till tomorrow. Hope to make it out tommorrow afernoon and friday morning efore we head to wisconsin for a week. THEM WERE the first 2 fish i ever caught on a crankbait, and hope to catch more. I have alot to learn about that style.

    Great fishing

Well in regards to no trolling. You cannot troll with an electric motor or a gas motor or either. that is the only way i usually fish for walleye around here. So you can’t troll jigging or you just gotta use the wind. or anchor. I live about 6 hours away so i probably won’t be up before the weekend. Is there any other regulations that might be different than illinois. Thanks for all your help. I hate to keep bothering you. Thanks again

Yes I am coming up with my wife of one year. We were up there last year and just relaxed this year I am wanting to get her into some walleyeon the lakes. Its hard on the river one day i get my limit the next i don’t get a bite. I have the chip that goes in my lowrance and it covers the whole chain of minocqua. Last year i stopped at Kurts Bait shop and he told me alot of walleye in tomahawk are caught on jig heads and a tube jig. thats what i use here alot of the time. We are staying at coachlite resort. Walleye is my main focus but you know i have never caught a muskie. i like to fish early mornings and evenings because it seems like everyone is of the lake by 6 pm. I was also wondering in Canada last year all we used were spinning rigs tipped with a minnow. Why wouldn’t that work on tomahawk. Talk later

Fished pool 14 on friday and saturday morning till about 9:15. From 4:30 a.m. till 8:30a.m. we had to legal walleye. from 8:30 till 9:15 we boated 6, 17″ to 19″ walleye and then had to go. Gonna try to make it out this week again, before we head to wisconson for a week on the 10 to try our luck up there. We are going to be around the minocqua area.
