Thanks for all of the insight, it is a good sounding board.

I do realize that all of the different units won’t share sonar data, I was hoping there was a little more flexibility than there is but I’m really not that concerned as I plan on each unit using it’s own transducer. I wish that I had the bonus of US2 with DI but I’ll try it out and see how the standard sonar works versus the pain of cables / wiring on the outside of the trolling motor with a DI transducer, that’s easy enough to add later.

I was aware I had to add the separate GPS antenna, debating one or two as well as which one, thinking the extra 50 bucks for the puck with the heading sensor but there isn’t a whole lot out there in terms of information about that.

I guess, as the last poster said, mostly what I am concerned about is sharing waypoints / trail info or maybe I should bite the bullet and upgrade all three to SI units and be done with it, at least have the option to share the SI.

I have done my homework, to some extent and realize in order to maximize the performance of the SI unit I may need to tweek the SI ducers location.

Thanks for the help, keep it coming!

I guess for me I was torn with the same questions. On my 621 I didn’t want holes but I didn’t want it mounted internally. In the end I sanded a patch on the transom and custom made 2 plastic mounting boards. Using Marine epoxy I stuck the boards to the sanded spot and they have worked flawless. I can change ducers without additional holes and no leaks. I imagine if you really wanted to be able to remove things you could use some 3M 5200 and try to stick the baords on with that as well, then just pull it off if you wanted, on a 50 MPH boat it may not hold though and in my case that means the ducer is going to be prop bait. Just another option…
