Update: trolling motor seems to work fine at speeds 4-10 but not at 1-3 on the twist throttle.

    Make an offer

    Thanks

The motor shaft is approximately 42″ and the tiller arm is about 16″. The twist throttle has 10 speed settings. Shaft diameter is approximately 1.75″

I keep my fish fresh in the fridge for 4-5 days but using a mix of comments from others. I bleed all my fish, filet, rinse well, dry with paper towels and seal tightly in a zip lock bag with little air and no water. Put the bag of filets in a bowl and I keep ice on top of the bag of filets in the fridge. I don’t like to soak fish, especially with city water that might be treated.

How about a piece of light colored indoor outdoor carpet?

Thanks for the time on the water Randy, I really appreciated it and good to see you again. Sorry to bring the jinx with me, took far too long to put that first fish in the boat after joining you – not from a lack of effort. Thanks also for the lesson on blades, you certainly outfished my plastics.

Take care, keep the faith and positive attitude rolling. Every day is a gift, enjoy what you can.

I have used flouro leaders more on the river the past few years than ever before. I especially like and think the flouro leader is critical when pitching smaller blades. The hooks used to tangle a lot with straight braid (Suffix 832) because that line is so limp. The flouro adds stiffness and really reduces the hooks fouling on the line. I also think it makes a difference during winter months when the water is much cleaner.

No idea about an ice rescue but my brother-in-law did get a bill from the FD for responding to his house fire in MN.

With my eyes getting older I just upgraded the muzzle loader scope from the 3-9 x 40 VX Freedom to the Diamondback 3.5-10 x 50 and really like the change. I use Leupold binos and this is my first Vortex scope but probably not the last.

These tools are a great addition to the tool chest and I will likely upgrade my cheap corded one to the M18 version. There is a brushless version (model 2836) but that one is $229 for the bare tool but probably worth it. My first use was also a flooring project and it worked great for that.

I added two things that were big for me.

First, I added a TUCR precision noodle rod to my arsenal. I have always been more of a “feel” guy and love my TUCR precisions rods and never thought I would like this style of rod. I hate a “whippy” or “soft” rod but this has really opened my eyes and has become one of my favorites. I felt more bites than I expected and also learned to “see” the bites better.

Second, I put my 5″ Strikemaster hand auger bit on a 1/2″ Milwaukee drill this year. I have been wanting to get into the electric auger game for some time but have been sitting on the sidelines. I still have my trusty Jiffy Model 30 that is about 26 or 27 years old and still starts every winter with minimal effort or care but I loved the drill auger combo. I was able to get the drill with 3, 5 amp hour batteries for $240 and can use it year-round where my 3/8″ drill doesn’t quite match the tasks. I did also add the Kovac ice master adapter which has worked flawlessly for me. The only negative is late ice I could use an extension. I seem to average about 20-30 holes per trip and some trips were 40-50 holes and still never once got through 1/2 of the batter life (based on the life indicator lights).

    No strobe lights for me…

Drake is around 95# and stands about 34″ tall when seated like this. This is the middle of the driveway in my front yard in Rushford.

I have been wearing Mucks for many years and love them. Wear them almost daily for everything from walking the dog to hunting and fishing. I have the Wetland and Chore boots for general use and the Arctic Sporta and just bought some Arctic Pros.

Only Mucks I had an issue with were the Blazer or Fieldblazers I think a Cabelas-exclusive. These were very lightweight and had poor traction. I wore through the heels in less than a year of general use.

I put the Dynapros on my Tahoe and they are ok but not as impressed with the winter traction as I was with the Michelin LTX’s I had. I will go back to the Michelin.

I also started using the voice command selfies this spring. Works slick. Just prop the phone on the other seat and adjust position as needed.

I’ve still got a mv1448 for sale with Johnson 2 stroke 25hp. Good solid boat, 72″ beam. Let me know if you want more info. Had 2 guys climb over the side while hunting and no fear of it tipping.

Congrats on the great looking rig. I’ll have to keep an eye open for you at the ramp and on the river.
