    Tolden,

Hougie and Bigweav are correct. Storm no longer makes the Deep Junior T-stick. I use these lures often, and as soon as I found out they were discontinued I went on a nation-wide buying “rampage” and have several hundred of them tucked away. I’m not sure if I’ve got your color but will check if you want me to. I know you can buy them on e-bay, and there’s an on-line tackle store based out of Hawaii called Jack’s International that has a good stockpile at reasonable prices. Hope this helps.

    Labby,

I use 7.5 ft. heavy action graphite flippin stix to pull weights from 3 to 8 oz. Barely a bend in the pole when trolling upstream at 0.5 to 1.5 MPH.

    ‘eye people,

Sorry for being so pesky, but how about some more advice on shad bodies? What brands/sizes/colors are you folks using? Any innovative ways of fishing them besides long lining and snap jigging? Where’s a good place to get them?

Thanx in advance for any info you can provide.

    L’eye,

I’ve got a Boga Grip (the original) that I use in conjunction with a net for ‘eyes and bass. It’s a high quality tool……spring loaded jaws, integral 30# weighing scale, and precision stainless steel construction. We net the fish, lip her with the Boga, remove the hook(s), get a weight/picture, and make the release. This is all done in a minute or two, without ever touching the fish (helps preserve the slime coat). The Boga also works great for those big northerns that like to twist up your landing net with your crankbait. We leave the net in the holder and lip the slimey thing at boatside, remove the hook(s), and release, without ever taking the pike out of the water. Don’t worry about any damage to the fish’s jaw. If used properly, the Boga puts less stress on a lip than the Bass Pro dudes do with their thumb/hand on TV.

I’ve seen the two Cabela’s products, which do not have the weighing feature. If you can afford it, go with the Boga.
