I’m back baby! I took a new job 3-4 years ago that actually requires a ton of work while at work lol. I know what a novel concept. So my IDO time has been quite slacking. That and its been harder to log on here after the passing of IDO member Sticker1 who I was very close with.

In other p3 news FBR has managed to stay away from his one true love section of the river as I haven’t seen him much out there since his move. I have been trying to break ice and keep that inland section open during the winter but not in the style and frequency that would make FBR proud. I need a 1.5 year summary of all IDO happenings please ) All I know is that James sold it and that Sharon is trying to migrate it over to Myspace )

    I miss all you idiots!

I’d help you out, but the register/login hurdle is annoying enough to deter me.

Yes, this bugged me too, but I powered through lol

The DNR is trying to help make our p3 debate life easier. They are asking for feedback on extending the no closure boarder water season and boarder water fish regs. to inland p3 and Lake Rebecca. I filled out the survey and am greatly in support of this as it lowers walleye/sauger limits and opens up more time of year to fish them and other game fish. If you agree…or disagree fill it out too:

yeah that is my one knock on them, they are not super durable with that tip. I would say I am slightly tough on them and have broke maybe 12-14 of them over the last 5-6 years. Thanks for reaching out! Let the search continue!

I ordered Friday Nov. 12. Both plastics, bells, and 2 rods. Plastics and bells showed up in about 4 days and then the rods shipped separate about 3 days later. So I had it all in about 1 week. Not amazon, but not bad either. Right in line with my expectations.

Pizza – Pappa Ts in Prescott, you can pull right up to the public dock and walk 3 blocks and get take out pizza there and eat it back in the boat. I am not a native hastings-er and have also been under whelmed by the all mighty Spiral Pizza. My theory is that native hasting-ers taste buds are genetically developed to love Spiral Pizza, but no one else’s is )

Muddy’s in Prescott have the best atmosphere, but you pay for it. Also, there old pre-covid menu was way better than the current one. Give 3 rivers a try too. Nice bar basement for games and then nice upstairs with good outdoors theme and 1 million TVs

Did they create their own weight scale or did they run the AIM or MTT system?

They used the same one as the MTT. I would like it to be a fish donkey next year too, my grandma will probably appreciate me not having to borrow her camera too ) Its a very fun tourney, good concept, and good people with a traveling wood trophy too with the past winners on it.

Mike, nice job transitioning the tourney over to CPR.

Pretty epic year of weights. You could argue too that the weight calculator (while maybe heavy for a Mille Lacs walleye) is slightly light for a Fall P4 Sauger. The last 7 years I remember just one 21lb weight winning, and a 18.22lb weight being another winner. Otherwise, it was lower than that.

This year 18lbs didn’t even get you in the top 10.

The sauger fishery is back and just as healthy as ever…that or it was just a super awesome bite year. Which I would say it was not better than any other year I have fished Saugerama.

    Nice work all!

Great boat with a BIG history of sticking fat mommas. Additionally, this boat has had more milk expressed in it than The Bunny Ranch. GLWS

LOL, I promise all the milk has been cleaned out!

Special milk discount! PRICE REDUCED to $11,000!

Nice reports all! I got a chance to fish with my boys (and their neighbor friends) both days of the weekend. Saturday we just a couple hours off our dock but did manage 3 eater eyes and a 2 eater pike (south zone). Sunday we hit the inland part of p3 (ya know since it was opener weekend and all). Loaded up the toon with kids and trolled around a few hours. Biggest eye was 25″ and we kept 5. It was less fishing and more adventure time, but regardless still fun!

Sunday night we ate the spoils! Kids loved it, I loved it, and the weather was awesome for an opener.

I agree, Sheldon is a great dude. He talked me through a lower unit rebuild and gave me the confidence to do it myself. When I had issues he offered to help me source other lowerunits and even stay at his place if I needed to come down for a working day. No one does that.

Side note SHeldon, that 97 75hp merc LU I rebuild might need to come down to you to be looked at, something just isn’t quite right at idle in forward. We’ll chat.

OK the end all be all. From Christopher Tetrault: He confirmed my grey line in my image to be correct line and wrote this and included his own (non FRB) image:

“The red line with the lines through it is the boundary”

That worked perfect. The DNR must read IDO! Thanks DNR, they just wrote back!

They forwarded it on to the area CO aka Joe, so I am one step closer to getting FBR’s map sent to me from Joe )

Good luck on the clarification Evan.

Good info hill, Were they at the Hastings landing? Prescott? Get thier name by chance?

The DNR just ticked over their 48hr max claimed response time on my email. Maybe they are digging deep and to answer this once and for all complete with gps coordinates, land marks, and extreme detailed definition ) lol who am I kidding.

poop if FBR (who has a life and job outside of IDO) can respond in 3 mins…You would think the DNR could in 48hrs.

Just a hair north of your vermillion cut line in the backwaters there ) I don’t want to fish walleyes in them per sae, I just want to keep them when I catch them on accident fishing crappies )

I am good with your map. Can’t wait to see what I hear from DNR…I hope they send me your exact map lol

I was hoping to draw you to this post FBR ) Shoot only took ya 3 mins )

I saw that in the 2016 post. Is that what Joe told you + your interpretation? Or exactly what he told you? What you hope it is? I am knowledge searching!

I refuse to let this post die, FBR did a great job of working through this with CO Joe. But I need more details. I have sent an email off to the DNR trying to find the answer to the infamous NW p3 boarder line. I don’t feel it is answered yet outside of some emails that said Isabelle is not border water. I will keep everyone updated on what I find. For now lets argue on the internet about what color line is that NW boarder?

The old line “well if you have MN land on both sides of you than that ain’t border water now is it sonny” doesn’t hold water here because you can go fish the vermilion river at Dushanes public launch with MN land on both sides of you and that is indeed IDO and MN DNR certified P3 boarder water!

    my favs
    1) any you can buy cheap
    2) ones that don’t cost so much
    3) Sonars
    4) Johnson Thinfishes w/ rattle
    5) Cheap China labor amazon baldes
    6) B fish N tackle

With that assortment you should have enough money to get going, and enough different vibration actions to catch any fish that might even debate biting and snag any fish that doesn’t want to bite )
