The one time I was there, I brought in a smallmouth and something crawled out of its mouth. Wasn’t a leech, probably snake or eel. Creeped me out a lil bit.

I don’t know the exact recipe but what it is is pretty much a fish salad. What I do know is the meat is not cooked. Just soaked in vinegar and then squeezed dry as possible. Mixed with some herbs and peanuts, then wrapped like a spring roll and dipped in her special sauce that is similar to thai peanut sauce.

Its a delicacy that can be enjoyed only once or twice a year because its a lot of work and yields so little eating. She has tried with other fish but none turns out the same way as perch. This reason alone is why I have always wanted to make a trip north for jumbos but have not had the opportunity.

Once saw the Whites chase baitfish all the way into the designated swimming area of a beach. The shad/minnows were jumping above the surface to avoid being eaten. The women and children began to scream and ran to shore.

It was amusing, reminded me of Jaws.

Well lets hope they make an appearance on the lower end.I’d be bounded to shore. The only shore good spots I’ve had any success is the stockholm & pepin ripraps. Tried Bay City & Maiden Rock shores but never had any luck there.

Thanks. I’ve been a long time lurker here, finally had to register to get find help locating those whites that have been so evasive as of late.
