Happy Easter everyone!!!

My wife took the strap handle from inside the soft case, it goes all the way around it, cut it in half, then found the balancing point and resewed it on the outside, now it is much longer and I can grab it easily with gloves on.

The frame is already made,we are building on it. I was thinking about using something like an underlayment then putting the plastic paneling they use in milk houses.

We use the dry onion soup packets and mix it with warm water according to directions until dissolved, pack jars loosely, add a chunk of beef tallow and put the onion soup in to ring at the top of the jar.

Welcome Steve, there are a great bunch of guys here and a few jokers!!!

My wife took Cod fillets and layed them on top of sliced onions, put pads of real butter on them, then lemon slices on that, then parsley! Microwaved until flaky and it turned out awesome!!!Ed
Ed…Great to see you made it back bud
How are things in Ia?….
Things are going good, deer hunted last week and everyone tagged out so now it’s processing time. With this warm weather it’ll be awhile before we get on the ice, but it gives us more time for cooking and baking for Christmas!!

This will be the first time in years that my wife and I won’t make it.

Apparently, in Asia, they have a different name for these carp. They all them “damn tasty”.
I read an article that said that commercial fishing of these species is taking off down in OH and IL. They process them into pre-cooked fish patties and flash freeze and then off to Asia they go by the container load. The article said the constraint now is not enough commercial fishing outfits are up and running to supply the fish to keep the processing plants running at efficient levels.
There’s probably a Deadliest Catch style reality show coming soon. Wicked Carp or whatever. The vast Illinois river…

Maybe this is a business opportunity for a young pup, ( younger than me) could get into.

Here’s a story I did on retrieving my auger from under the ice. Catch of the day
Ed
I found these on E-bay Inflatable buoys they are 18″ long and 10.5″ around.
Ed
I forgot, make sure you drill a hole bigger than the auger under the ice.
Ed
I had the same thing happen a few years ago, I tried the magnet trick but as the auger went down it was still spinning and augured it’s self into the mud. I had an old screen tent that had aluminum poles, I bolted the poles together and run a small cable down it inside, then bolted it to the end so I could pull it snug like an animal catch pole. I had to keep it in 2 pieces until I got to the pond, then finish bolting it together. I used an aqua vu camera to see what I was doing but watching it on the screen and moving it is tough, when you move one direction it’s opposite of what the camera shows. Once I was able to grab it I really had to pull it hard to get it unstuck from the mud.

My wife has worked in the sewing industry for over 20 years, first at Powers manufacturing, which makes athletic uniforms from high school to pros, and her last job involving sewing was doing upholstery for Life Line, who makes ambulances. She says the Omega machine will and has handled tarp and heavy leather sewing for under $500.00.
Ed
I bought my wife and Omega sewing machine a few years ago and she loves it. It is from Canada and is industrial strength at a great price. Just Google Omega sewing machines. I think you have to buy through ebay, at least that’s where I found hers.

Indeed.
On a side note, I have grown fond of Alaska the Last Frontier. Not much faking going on there. I also enjoy Life Below Zero and Yukon Men, but ATLF is the best! They are all just so darn likeable.
I agree Pug, my wife and I watch all 3 of those shows, makes us wish we would have moved there in our younger years.
Ed
Hope you were able to sneak some cookies out from the show so you’d have something to snack on!!!
